I hate the hire but if the guy made it his mission to change the mascot name, he'd be out of a job quick.

He can’t just come in and change things. It has to be voted on by the BOS!! This ain’t the president of the United States.

Do you have any clue who is on the LSU BoS? It is a complete leftist regime at this point.

I am middle of the road politically, much moreso than most of the quacks on this board, but the LSU BoS, by design, is full of very far left folks with very far left agendas. There are only a handful of people that don't fit that description.

LSU has and will continue to go down this path. Just hope they don't cancel too much.

The point is that he never should've been hired. Even the mild acceptance of CRT is a disqualifying factor for ANY job, down to janitor.

If he chooses not to push the CRT agenda, then great, but it doesn't change the facts of today.

This.

And he was woefully under qualified compared to Jim Henderson. That is racism to choose a less qualified man simply because of race.

He also has his own Title IX issues at South Carolina, which is exactly what we're trying to dig ourselves out of right now.

When it’s all said and done if the big alumni donors disapprove of his decisions he will be gone. Doesn’t matter what you and I think

The PoliBoard people really are, but this is different. We just lived through F. King and his bullshite political race baiting. We have a Mayor in Baton Rouge that pushes a similar race-centric ideology (who is herself, a massive racist). Now we hire a guy who literally has made a career studying and being a proponent of Critical Race Theory.

This isn't about a statue, this is about changing the fabric of the university in a way that is detrimental to students and the culture of the entire system.

Not to mention the guy just isn't as qualified as others.

Nothing has happened yet. Maybe it won't be that bad.

I don't see how LSU will be able to continue to use the name "Fighting Tigers" for very many more years now.

Isn't Middleton an outdated dump? Who cares if they rename it.

Nothing emotional about it. It’s a shitty hire. He is no where near the most qualified person for the position. The fact that he has a far left nut job agenda makes it even worse.

So this goes for CST(Critical Superiority Theory)?

This doesn't exist.

If you disagree, please point me to scholarly papers written on the subject by any of the other candidates for the LSU president.

I'm ready for the 'LSU Fighting Damn Strong Football Team'. The Les Miles legacy lives on.

It's kind of like the young 20 something year old smartass kid who thinks he's all big and bad and going to tell his parents how things are going to be and go against their wishes. The parents are the one who have been paying for all his shite. Well they say, "OK hotshot you got it. We're pulling out." They stop paying for his shite. He fails miserably and comes back with head down and tail tucked.

That is what will happen here. Right now, LSU is in the stage of the kid spouting his mouth off to the parents and feeling like he's all big and bad.

Um...so Critical Superiority Theories doesn't exist?

Here's a Washington Post article.

There are many scholarly papers on this. You look it up. Start with "Mein Kampf"

Yes, I did.

Jim Henderson has actually run a university system in the state of Louisiana and done so very well. He is more administrator than academic, which is exactly what LSU needed. He approaches UofL system like a business.

I never said Tate wasn't smart, he's obviously intelligent. But that doesn't make him more qualified than Jim Henderson to run a large university system in Louisiana. It was a PR hire. Period.

South Carolina is an absolute shite show as well and Tate has his own Title IX issues there.
