I like the traditional uniform best. It is part of our history and tradition along with night games, tailgating, etc. Having said that I will wait to pass judgement on this uniform until I can see it in person. Hopefully the players like them. That is what really counts.

My point was the reasoning behind the alternate is to make people buy another jersey.

That doesn't make sense. Nike doesn't decide when alternates are used. The schools do.

. One off alternates for teams like LSU are a cash grab first and a fun thing for the players second.

Nike has no say on when the schools do it. If it was a cashgrab, they'd make Bama do it. Nike doesn't get to make that decision.

MY guess would be purple to gold

I'm thinking it's black to purple. Purple when the light hits it directly, and black otherwise.

Watch how often it's discussed by players and recruits.

To be honest, I’m not too sure I’m worried about a recruit who’s decision on where to play football is in any way shape or form contingent upon whether a team changes their uniform or not during the year.

Like someone saying they would like to play for Bama if they only would not look like Alabama every now and then. Weird reasoning. Probably a weird kid too.

I understand tradition, but I guarantee the players love this type of stuff. They will be hyped to wear an alternate uniform.

I love the experimentation with the purple helmet. Would have been cool to keep the original white jersey and pants style to go with it IMO but other than the weird arse number font it's hard to find anything to HATE about this combination as a one game alternate

This.

I like that we kept the helmet logo the same. A matte purple helmet would be pretty cool too.

You're looking at this as a middle aged adult. High school kids love this kind of stuff.

Less yellow is definitely an improvement.

I’m talking consumers, not Nike forcing the school to buy jerseys.

This doesn’t refute what I’m saying though. And bama did have a pro combat jersey it just wasn’t drastic.

Nike doesn't make these to sell jerseys. they make them when the school decides they want to do it. They are not made just to sell a couple hundred jerseys, if that.

Nah, just a human being with a moderate amount of ability to reason.

I blame all this shite on the freaking Oregon Ducks. Man, I cant stand that group. Everything about them spells no real tradition.

You’re the LSU Tigers. LOOK like the LSU Tigers.

I like it. I'm sure a lot of the players love it. Can't go wrong with traditional, but this is a cool design.

eh, I'll wait till I see it under the lights to say in or out.

All I'm asking for is the OL to start wearing tape/gloves the same color as the opponents jersey. For the love of god, it's such a simple tactic that works very well.

An aluminum splint taped up over the thumb works wonders too... go ahead, try and get them hands up Mr. DL, I have something for that upper rib right here.

you're naive if you actually believe Nike isn't pushing schools to do alternates
