Yeah, its probably two colors that aren't far off from each other. Purple to gold probably wouldn't work.

Put me down as a hate it as well. I like that the jersey is clean and simple...still not sold on it though, but the helmet is godawful.

Well, then we should make them the mainstay. Oregon does it. Frankly, if it takes a new uniform to get players fired up to play I think there is a problem, but if it works then who cares what I think? They seemed pretty fired up in our regular uniforms against GA.

It’s just convenient that the Nike alternates became super popular right after they launched their pro combat line of products in 2009/2010.

So your argument is that 10 years ago, Nike did alternate designs to show off their new jersey tech and now any alternate is a cash grab even though it is the schools that decide when they are used?
