Nike isn’t targeting the players, they’re targeting the people who will buy the jersey. The game is just an ad for the jersey.

Not sure about all that. I don't think they do all the alternates at Oregon just to sell jerseys.

That’s legit. Change it permanently and just wear the traditional uniforms 3 or 4 times a year.

I love the experimentation with the purple helmet. Would have been cool to keep the original white jersey and pants style to go with it IMO but other than the weird arse number font it's hard to find anything to HATE about this combination as a one game alternate. And I'm pretty much a jersey traditionalist.

How so? The alternates are usually developed in house at the schools that choose to have them. Nike has no say on when a school has them, or if a school has them.

All that matters is if players and recruits like them. If they are happy and we play harder I’m happy. As the great George costanza said

Obviously Oregon is the exception and you know that. One off alternates for teams like LSU are a cash grab first and a fun thing for the players second.
