Why does LSU need to be an accredited tiger sanctuary?

Mike is a beautiful animal that should be respected and kept in his sanctuary for all to enjoy. The people who want him stuck in a cage (with so much caging you can barely see him) so that they can yuck it up from the nosebleeds are morons.

Any intelligent person wouldn’t want an animal as regal as Mike placed under unnecessary stress. He’s a tiger, not a stupid dog or steer.

For LSU, it means that it is in compliance with an accrediting organization, the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries, in maintaining a high standard of care and housing for Mike. It also means LSU will not breed tigers, not that it ever had that intent.

Why does this matter?

Y’all realize they load Mike in that travel cage and take him places when they want to. Like to the LSU vet building. There is no issue of loading him into the travel cage.

No shite Sherlock. But there’s no crowd when they take him to the SVM. And they don’t do that very often. The issue is the stress caused by driving him around Tiger Stadium before the football game.

They used to lie and say that they won’t force him into the travel cage. “But, we opened the door and he wouldn’t go in. What could we do?”

They find a way to get him in when they want to.

watched Mike go around the field for over 40 years. It was an awesome tradition. Not once did he ever seem to be in distress. Unfortunately it will never happen again. I am surprised Texas, Colorado, FSU, Auburn, etc still have their animals part of pregame. The PETA group is stupid along with some of the woke soft people on this board.

What does woke mean?
