I was more talking about Pearson at DH with Dugas in LF never really crossed my mind. I'm all for Kling in RF then either him or Stevenson taking CF next season.

Been reading a lot of good things about Zeb Ruddell from Neville also. I think the OF will have plenty of pieces for the next few years.

Yes, Ruddell is good, too. He's bigger, longer than Mic Paul.

In todays college athletics, I don't know that you can ever feel like you have future depth. Meaning if a guy isn't playing as a freshman, I don't think you can count on him being around the next year unless he will basically be stepping into a starting job. They will just transfer out and be replaced by incoming freshman or another transfer.

I saw some of Zeb's analytical numbers on PBR and they're no joke..100 mph exit velo, 75.9 bat speed and a 6.69 60. I'm anxious to see how he fairs in the fall

Has anyone heard anything about Denton. He would shore up that infield defense with Pineda at short and Denton at 3rd.

We definitely will have more/better OF options moving forward if this class makes it to campus IMO (obviously Crawford wont). Kling is the guy who stands out as an instant starter...

I say that, but Stevenson is absolutely on a tear to start the Northwoods league right now too. 10 for 24 (.417) with 4 doubles, 6 walks, 6 K's and 4 SB. He's playing on the same team as Luke Leto who has struggled to start as well as Brennan Holt and Blaine Priester. Priester has really struggled at the plate and Holt has been alright.

Kling and his family have been very vocal about him going to LSU.

I'd honestly be surprised at this point if he didn't.

UNIVERSITY PARK — Central senior Paxton Kling may hear his name during the early rounds of the Major League Baseball draft this July, but when asked following the Scarlet Dragons’ 13-2 victory over Lancaster Catholic in the PIAA Class 3A championship on Friday, he had a quick response to whether he would consider skipping college and turn professional.

“I’m going to LSU,” Kling said. “I’m excited to get down there and play for Coach (Jay) Johnson and the rest of the coaching staff down there. I can’t wait to see what Baton Rouge has in store for me.”

ETA: Presumably the "rest of the coaching staff" comment was made while we still had a "rest of the coaching staff".

That's great news. Now let's hear from Mikey.

That's not going to happen BUT Jay will be visiting him with a briefcase very soon.

50/50 at this point depending on the draft.

Edit: I don't think he's a top 15 prospect right now...basically if he comes back he's competing for a DH/RF spot which has been relayed to him.

I know he has no recent body of work and I am a little biased but Connor Simon is finally getting healthy and beginning to work back into playing shape. Don’t count him out. He has been throwing and hitting. Due to his inability to commit to playing the whole summer, he had to back out of his summer team up north. He will be playing a partial summer season with the Cane Cutters starting in July. He has also been doing some bullpen work and throwing 90+. The whole time he was injured, he was taking a lot of ground balls from BP. He will be given an opportunity to compete for an infield position in the fall. Before he was injured in HS, he was the number one player in the state of LA and had a 60’s ranking on Perfect game. He has the skills to be an everyday player at LSU. Plus he can also pitch.

Hope he gets healthy. I really liked him as a pitcher, honestly, but it's been awhile since anyone has even seen him play.

1. Pineda SS
2. Crews CF
3. Morgan 1B
4. Dugas 3B
5. Pearson RF
6. Thompson 2B
7. Jobert DH
8. Stevenson LF
9. Milazzo C

I could definitely see Romero, Guidry, and/or Kling forcing their way in there though. Neal would have a chance as well. I still think another transfer infielder would be a benefit. I could see Jobert not being back too.

I could see something like this too...

I could see Romero or Neal hit in the three hole pushing Morgan back to the 7 spot. Neal batted 3rd for IMG his sophomore year in a lineup that featured Elijah Green, Tommy White (aka Tommy Tanks) and James Wood.

You're smoking crack if you think Morgan hits anywhere outside of the first 5 spots in the lineup next year.
