How much are you willing to pony-up to pay for those?

The indoor batting cages were built along with the new Alex Box Stadium. They are in the building on the right-field side of the stadium just outside the fences. The new workout facility is connected to the same structure.

LSU athletics is turning a profit, I guess they could use some of that

Bleachers suck for those down the lines. I can see outfield but down the lines is being cheap for the best fans in CBB

Doesn’t LSU sell the most season tickets in the NCAA? Maybe use some of that money.

As if "some of that money" is not already being used.

The baseball program had a "profit" of a little over $300,000 last academic year. That would not pay for the multi-millions of dollars it would cost to do what you want to do to replace the bench seats.

I currently pay $200 per season ticket to TAF for my grandstand seats which is used to pay down the bonds which were issued when the new Alex Box was built. That's in addition to the cost of the tickets themselves.

So, who pays for the new renovations?

Should I pay for them even though I'd get no benefit from outfield chair back seats being added?

Or, should LSU charge all of the season ticket holders who would get the chair back seats $200/ticket as a required "contribution" just like I have to pay now?

Somebody would have to pay for the new seats.

You talk as if chairbacks cost multiple millions of dollars. There’s no way that cost an arm and a leg to replace

Yes, they would.

It's been priced out and the cost was several million dollars. It takes more than just adding the seats to the existing structure. The existing structure would have to be rebuilt to accommodate chair back seats on it.

I'm all for everyone having a chair back! It would look great!

But the question remains, are the fans who would use those seats willing to pay approximately 50%-100% more per season ticket with some type of surcharge added to have those chairs?

So how do baseball programs that don’t make any money or lose money have seat backs?

The fact that LSU baseball brought in 300k profit is the biggest reason we should have seat backs. But you already knew that.

The athletic department should be motivated to maintain baseball as a net positive to their budget. That means keeping up with amenities that other competitive programs have

That's just bullshite and you know it.

"LSU is rolling in money. Time to have chair back seats and a cover every where, get rid of the adverts, lower the cost of tickets and give jambalaya away free after each home run".

Rant logic

Yes, really.

You've gone from "no additional funding would be required" to "wait, really?" to the idea that somebody would have to pay for new chair seats.

That's progress, I suppose.

No. That isn’t a serious question.

The athletic department made 8 million dollars last year. They have money for upgrades. That doesn’t include TAF.

What other schools do is completely irrelevant.

LSU has its own philosophy for facilities improvements. That's all that matters.
