Why would you wanna replace a Top 5 national coach?
I think PM has done some great stuff at LSU but he is not a top 5 coach right now. I don't see the fire anymore. I'm sure things with his dad passing away has had its toll on him but things have not been pretty.
This is going the Les Miles route right now.

Agree Paul is a good coach, it’s just that I feel that the program has become stale and both he and LSU need a fresh start

Hopefully the 3rd paid assistant passes tomorrow
That will make a huge difference IMO

Butch Thompson and Tim Corbin would be my top 2 choices.

Scott Strickin. 45 years old. Has taken Georgia from the dumpster to a top 10 team. Took Kent State to the World Series
Schlossnagle is 48 and look what he’s done at TCU. Imagine what he could do with those Texas connections and LSU’s brand/backing.

I thought about Corbin but I’d prefer to go younger

Kind of struggled last year though, and soso this season.
I think whoever came to LSU would excel here though.

Could go after any big names out there or go the younger route with someone like UCF or Kent states coaches. Someone young who wants to bring LSU back to elite status. They’re doing very well with the talent they have but can you imagine what their teams would be like with our players and facilities?

TCU’s coach would be awesome

I say the Stony Brook coach or the Coastal Carolina coach. What say you?

I would love coastal’s coach but he’s around Paul’s age or a little older maybe but he’s a damn good coach

Scott Sticklin would be perfect. Proven coach, Proven winner.

People like to thump their chests about the football program and how we should be able to get any coach we want, but that’s actually true of LSU baseball. I’m not done with Paul yet, but we should be able to pull Sully out of Florida, Schloss out of TCU, Corbin out of Vandy, etc. There’s no need to hire a young up and comer.

Coastal Carolina coach.
What does he bring to the table?
Older than CPM
Want to know what his staff consists of?
Asst Coach / Recruiting Coordinator
Asst Coach / Pitching Coach
Volunteer Coach for hitting

I'd throw in Dan McDonnell's name into the mix.
