Nice comparison. Love the new look. Looks like the shakos are about twice as tall! I'm sure it'll look sharp.

it just looks off. They needed to find something close enough to gold that is vented. Those uniforms always looked miserable to wear.

Please tell me that's a poor quality shadow and the insides of the sleeves aren't purple.

Uniforms don't make the half-time shows enjoyable and worth watching!
I'll get excited when the University hires an experienced "College Marching Band Nick Saban" type as the Tiger Band Director.
Believe me, if "lazy" LSU would get off their arse and be pro-active, they could get a guy in here that could make a huge difference in the quality of the shows.
First thing they got to do is restructure the band department to the way it was previously. (And the way most colleges do) The head "Director of Bands" has GOT to be in charge of Tiger Band and the Wind Ensemble. GOT to happen.
You'll never hire a great marching band director if he's not in charge at the top!................

Now that Mike is banned from his own house, Golden Girls will be F. King and the Democrat's next target to banish from Possum Stadium.

Sorry, but the inside of the sleeves and the sides are purple. They've also cut the military braids over the shoulders. The new ones are more of a modern drum corps. style-hybrid, while keeping general aspects of the old look.

The Golden Girls should go back to the retro gladiator uniforms.

Last year was their first year under the direction of a new director. He graduated from UT, who has a phenomenal musical program. He also marched in drum corps, which is as good as it gets, when it comes to showmanship. I was in the band a while back, and I just hope that the individual musicianship starts to become more of a priority. It seemed to change for the better, a good bit last year, at least when it came to half time shows. The NOLA show and the BatonRouge show were great. I think the new director just needs to cement his policies and style of directing.
Just like bringing in a new offensive coordinator, it takes more than just one year to fully install a system.

I really like Llinas' drum corp background and the direction he took the program last year. The half-time shows were great, and the sound was balanced. Now, the former percussionist in my wishes they would add pitt-percussion like some of the other SEC schools have done.

Has LSU really ever had melodic percussion, much less a pit?

Times change brah. This ain't John Phillips Sousa's band uniform.

From that picture the purple on the sleeves looks really dumb. The new directed tries way too hard and needs to cool it

After years and years of trying the school of music butt buddies finally have the people in place to take down tiger band.

Don't worry, brah. The purple sleeves and sides are just going to help the fatter people look slimmer, so the band in general looks more uniform.

Those will look good with the classical stylings of West Side Story.
