I miss the train passing. It pumped up the fans. The new one does not have the magic like the old did.

I hope the New Box dies in a fire. It is truly the most half-baked, worst planned sports venue that I have ever had the misfortune to experience. Just the location alone is absolutely terrible and enough to justify destroying it.

Damn. Chill pill brah. They should have built the new box where the new softball stadium is.

It's just totally inexcusable. Why the hell would somebody design something like that where you can't accommodate traffic? Why would you try to build something at such a horrible corner of a horrible intersection where there isn't enough room to do what you wanted to do? It's just so reckless. They knew what they were doing, but they just didn't care. It really, really, really makes me resentful.

Damn, a little touchy on the subject, aren't we?

Just messing with you, Doc.

I do agree the traffic flow isn't the best but other than that I really like the new Box.

Why did they choose the location it is? For the view maybe? Only reason I can think of is they didn't want the football practice facility taking up the entire right field view.

Football parking maybe. The baseball stadium would take up a lot more space there than the softball field.

That location would work so much better for traffic flow with 4 laned Skip Bertman and a bunch of side exits to river road. Also the "gravel" lots are much closer and there are more in that area.

Getting to it is a pain, but once you are in the stadium it is very nice. I love both of them.

After this weekend I have experienced every aspect of the new box (was in the press box working this w/e). New box wins on all accounts. Does any one remember the old press tabl... I mean box? It was a joke. New box is a much needed upgrade in all aspects.

Yes the traffic sucks though

Probably had more room for parking and what not, catch is you have to park a mile away unless you are paying top dollar

The crowds in the old box were much better, imo. It just seemed more alive. New Alex Box is a great venue and I definitely see why they built it where they did, but It would have been awesome if they could have built it where the OLD softball stadium was located.
