Not really what I was getting at, but Ok.

Standing Ovations, high fives, and feeding the other teams before the game has been going on forever at LSU. Good sportsmanship wasn't what I was complaining about. You know that already.

I always park at the in the parking lot across from the old box. It's less then a 10 minute walk and I've never really had trouble getting out after a game.

The Old Alex Box was magic because that is where it started. I remember the weekend series when Ron Polk brought MSU into Alex box during Bertman's first year, and we took 2 out of 3. There were LSU 30-ish fans at Satursdays game, and the stands were packed with Bulldogs. My dad took us to the Saturday game because it was double header, with both games being 7 innings. That was the first time I heard someone call Will Clark an a-hole.

The Old Alex box was great for an underdog team that would have a few hunderd fans show up. However, the new stadium makes sure that more people can enjoy the games in person.

Ill take the old Alex box but not for reason you would think. I know this is a long post but bare with me.
I would have thought that with the amount of money that was spent on the new stadium the design for would have been given to a firm that had designed a pro baseball stadium. Although DR group had designed a couple of small baseball parks they are more known for building public buildings. What we got was a beautiful park that plays like a public building not a real baseball stadium. Companies that are known for building baseball parks would have spent some time modeling the air flows associated with how the baseball flies to build a hitters ball park. Any first year architect would have known that blocking the air flow with the concessions and bathrooms between the stands and press boxes kills the airflow and deadens the ball flight.
So even though the old Alex Box isn't as nice it was a hitters park.

I dont give a crap what anyone says...Old Box under the hanger in the middle of May/June day smelled like armpit during Regionals when everyone was packed in for the 1PM games. Good riddance to that.

I do miss the $50 fans circulating the air though under there. RIP mini box fans.
