Miss St, Auburn, Alabama, and Georgia all have D lines comparable to us. Also, rain should have ZERO affect on the Oline. In fact, it should help the Oline bc it negates the quickness of the Dline.

I will add that the defense is always ahead of the offense at this point, which is why there should be a lot of improvement before the season starts. Still doesn’t mean they will be great. It maybe opens the door more for McMillan bc of his mobility and escapability.

Need to get Brumfield at center and deculus at guard.

Cush wasn’t good in spring and looks like it’s carrying over

You're wasting your time with some of these idiots. The O-line was decent last year and I think it will be better this year.

No offense, but Ed Ingram won't change the fact that LSU doesn't have championship offensive tackles. Guys who can pass block against this schedule, which is much tougher than last year. Our OTs may not be terrible, but compared to Alabama and Georgia, it's the biggest weakness in recruiting. They get 5* OTs, LSU doesn't.

That's really good to hear. We are all anxiously waiting to see the results on the field in a few short weeks.

There was nothing wrong with the play of the OL last year. It was solid to very good most of the season.

Hell, their performance in the Alabama game is what spawned this

In what seasons would you say we had “championship offensive tackles”?

Are you saying Charles isn’t one?

Good post. I could be wrong, but seem to remember the OL struggled early in the season last year, then as the 2 Fr adjusted, the oline became steady-- if not spectacular. So definitely not fair to give last year's line a blanket "sucks" grade, and way too early to say they'll suck this year.

When they had La'el and Hawkins, that was damn good. That's about it though, and now the competition in the SEC is tougher than it was in the beginning of the decade when Auburn struggled post Cam, Georgia now being dominant, Miss St being being better, etc.

Charles is a true sophomore who was playing soccer a few years ago. Athletic, but doesn't have ideal length. Best case scenario is the other tackle is another true sophomore in Deculus.

Murder's row of pass rushers on the schedule this year much more than the teams we faced last year that were collapsing.

I'm thinking Cregg was brought in to improve our pass protection. I'm thinking he was left with a bunch of road graders. I'm thinking that we need to give Cregg a chance.

I don't know if I would go as far as saying very good, but they definitely didn't suck. I was actually pleasantly surprised at how well they played last year.
