Yeah, then we could bring back the underachievier, Nick "The EGO," Saban and go back to our 3 loss seasons, except for 1, and make everybody happy.

Come on, Bud. I'm a big homer and 'sunshine pumper' but that's just silly.

LSU played in the Capital One Bowl last year.It sounds to me the bowl(s),SEC and LSU talked about which one they wanted more. Probably the players wanted the Cotton.

No bowl wants a team that does not want to be there.

Prepare for 'bumpage' on 1/8 if we lose.

what ? We're in the best bowl for us outside of the BCS bowls. We open there next year, the field will be perfect. The fast surface benefits our team speed.

I don't disagree that the negativity is bad but you can't connect the dots the way you have...

It was a mutual decision that benefited both LSU and the cap 1 bowl. How can you guys not see that?

This!!

If LSU hadn't just been to the Capital One less that 12 months ago, I could understand wanting that bowl but we had just been there and I don't understand a desire to go back.

I think the team and most fans wanted the Cotton bowl.

Seems like a win-win to me, but each to our own.

The rant really has a high opinion of itself and its power.

All I'll say is we better take A&M seriously because they are a good team. I live in austin and watched almost all of their games and they are tough.

No question that the "doom and gloom" vocal minority of our fanbase, primarily represented on the TR, caused the Capital One to stay away from our Tigers and a more nationally compelling matchup against a conference champion.

I'm a "realistic Tiger" who doesn't mind being critical when we stink. But this isn't close to the truth. How about 2 years in a row at Cap One & 3 years out of 6 in Orlando. Bowls want some fresh teams and matchups that create excitement.

Playing the Aggies at JerryWorld as the sole game at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, is far superior to playing the Spartans on the hangover morning of Jan. 1 at that same awful place as last year. And after that day of football gluttony, no one would be talking about LSU, win or lose. As is, LSU will play the last meaningful bowl game before the NC with a reasonable chance of winning. LSU's 2 previous Cap Ones were depressing as hell. I'm excited about the Cotton Bowl and wish the Capital Oners would stop crying over the loss of something that wasn't worth wishing for. At least the Aggies and their fans are fired up to beat LSU, and will be glad to talk to you about it. The Spartan community hasn't much interest in LSU (beyond avenging their loss in the Poulan Weedeater Bowl about 10 years ago. When was that exactly? I remember back-to-back kickoff return TDs, one by Kevin Faulk).

Anyway, yes -- so much more enjoyable to play the Aggies in prime time at JerryWorld, and a good primer for the September day of reckoning against the mighty Ducks.

I would rather go to the Cotton Bowl personally.

1. Jerryworld is an awesome venue.

2. Dallas is awesome.

3. It is closer for your fanbase.

4. A lot of people consider the Cotton Bowl to be the best non-BCS bowl.

5. Wasn't your last experience at the CapOne Bowl shitty enough?

6. The "nega-tigers" don't cause anything in the realm of LSU football but headaches for some of the other fans. I don't blame them though, LSU is an elite college football program and you have coaches like Crowton and QB's like JJ.

Of course! We have 2 guys on our team who have ever been in trouble at Auburn, definitely criminal U. I have been arrested 20 times so it is a great fit for me here at Auburn.

Uhhhh?

Actually, going 10-2, and losing to ARky in an embarrassing way caused us to go to a lesser bowl.

Nothing more. Well maybe one of the worst offenses in the country had SOMETHING to do with it, but that's a matter for the sports pundits to argue.

10-2. loss to ARky and that TD we gave up at the end of the first half was laughing stock material.

LSU fans had nothing to do with it.

We just watched in horror and frustration.

10-2 with a cotton bowl berth is acceptable and a lot better than I thought this season would end up.

Props to Les and this team for over acheiving (given the horrendous QB play and sub-par offensive scheme and execution).

I just hope they redeem themselves against the AGgies. A loss to the Ags will be really hard to live down, given the recent achievements of that program.

I approve this message. Can't wait for the 7th.
After attending the Cap 1 mud bowl last year, I would not have spent my money to go back to that shithole again.

they also consult the rant for play-calling advice, who to hire, who to fire, who should start, who to keep, who not to keep, how to best spend the athletic funds...

come on man, gimme a break. our opinions aren't that important to them, trust me.

Get a grip. You really believe that the several thousand on TR would have a difference over the other 100 thousand fans if they really wanted to go to the Cap 1 bowl. You drink too much TR cool aid.

it does not suck. Nice bowl. ive been a couple of times and had a blast.

Orlando has plenty to do. More than Dallas.

Im happy with the Cotton, but the Capital One definitely does NOT suck.

You could not have been there last year. Go spend plenty of money at Disney & Universal, have minimum fan activity at a strip mall, then watch a game on a field that goats shouldn't be on. Cap1 should have at least comped the drinks in that pig pen.

I am so looking forward to JerryWorld!

Actually I think LSU is going right where it wants to go; the plan with the new stadium is to make the Cotton Bowl a fifth BCS game. I have been to the Cap One; subpar stadium and not much in the way of adult entertainment.
