Disagree. 2 are substantially better than the other especially with the loss of Crews, Morgan, Dugas, Thompson, etc…

let’s not pretend he should be playing substantial innings behind the plate for a national contender.

He did last year. For the national champions.

would consider the last outfield spot and 2nd base much more polarizing positions.

Whomever you think are fighting for those spots are going to play!

There you go. Solved. Nothing to discuss!

Where are we getting NEAL is some tremendous hitter. He hit 200 last year missing a
Good bit of SEC play.

Touché but that was more out of necessity. Plus last year offensively LSU was loaded so u could afford a weak bat. This year has a lot of potential but you are replacing a TON of production.

Disagree.

So you don’t think Milazzo is a competent catcher? The guy who played in 53 games for the national champions last year? You don’t think he is competent?

They are basing it off of potential, which he has a ton of. He is far from a proven hitter though.

I think he is a below avg SEC catcher that should only see limited duty as a mid week guy or late inning def replacement.

He is good not great defensively and very bad offensively.

Dude nobody is sitting here saying he should start every game. I said he was a competent catcher, which you disagreed with. He’s going to play. Just like Neal is going to play. And just like Travinski is going to play.

That’s probably what his role will be so I don’t know what you are bitching about

People are saying he should be playing over those 2. He the clear 3rd option and it really isn’t close.

I mean I’m pretty sure we basically know how they will be used. Neal and Travinski will split time for the majority of weekend games if they can stay healthy. Milazzo will be used as a defensive replacement and in midweek games. What further discussion do you want to have?

Who is saying that?

Just on the first page or two you have someone saying Milazzo should be the starter and someone else saying Neal is only going to DH.

If he is fully healthy, he will get the lion share of the time. He got it last season until he got injured.

I’m excluding the OP because he obviously doesn’t know and is asking questions. Neal isn’t going to be able to start consecutive games this year. Jay has already said that. Other guys are going to have to start games.

you said we have 3 competent catchers. I took that as all 3 are comparable. Is Milazzo a competent injury replacement? Sure I guess but that is about it.

Honestly I would like to see what Jones can do behind the plate. We know what we have in Trav and we know what we have in Milazzo. Neal is still unproven but has shown flashes.

Didn’t Jay have him in the middle of the lineup as an 18 year old freshman on a team with a ton of hitting talent? He was a top draft prospect for several years and probably wouldn’t have made it here had he not reclassified.
