That's how playoffs work, and why we have a 12 team playoff.

Completely missed the point. The polls dictate who gets in the playoffs. SEC beats themselves out of the chance to play and if one or two teams makes it, they will be highly injured and weaken from their harder schedules. They will also be pitted against each other in the first rounds of the playoffs as well. The non SEC teams and will be all set to win with less injuries and fluff schedules.

In the 70's the media kept Bear Bryant's undefeated Alabama teams from being number one for the exact same reason. They believed Bama played in a "weaker conference" and didn’t deserve to win over a 1 or 2 loss non SEC team. It took the BCS to make the country realized the real strength of the SEC. Ever since it was about how to get rid of the BCS. They sold us all when we could tell man's algorithms would dictate who won in their polls. (That also proved Ai could never be self-aware) Now, we are back to just media and coaches again. That's why there's a push to go 24 team playoffs.

Any of these teams lose a game and they should be out.

It's not a surprise that it's easier to win a national championship playing a bunch of cupcakes vs an SEC schedule.

It's almost like the committee has been telling us this the whole time. They look at strength of schedule but they look at the record too. All they have to do it schedule a few power 4 teams, a lot of cupcakes, go 10-2 or better and get in. With the 24 team playoff, they've added strength of record to account for the additional teams added. Why not do that now and not add 12 additional teams? Maybe 4 more at the most and be done. 24 dilutes the regular season too much.

I think they could wreck shop again should they be let in the playoffs, even if they’re blowing out weaker teams during the season.

Right! By the time the SEC team makes it to the playoffs, they have a foot down from being a lot more battered. This is exactly why, any time an SEC team made it to the championship and won it during the BCS era, SEC fans would yell, “SEC! Number one!” Not the team! LOL. Oh, the good ol’ days!

Not one of those 3 will make it through the playoffs. They may MAKE the playoffs, but don't have the resume to win it all. From my eyes the best are UGA, TX & Ohio State.

LOL! Well, I'm sure you thought the exact same way last year especially about IU.

The best team right now that can win it all is LSU! Good try.

This has been known and the rise of 4-12 team playoffs have made the conference unnecessary. The season is not the playoff anymore. It’s sad

Very good point

There will be a lot of really good 9-3 sec teams after the conference beats itself up all season. Adding that 9th conference game was incredibly dumb on Stankeys part

Hmmmm

Cignetti doesn’t have a roster full of 25-26 year olds this year.

Now, I understand why they got rid of the redshirt saga. The erosion of integrity brought that good idea to its demise.

Especially when imbecile Sankey scheduled an EXTRA SEC game.

The revenue from those extra games will make him look like a genius. Unfortunately

Take heed...notice you will never hear the media talk about that....ever! Media drives this manipulation. That's why we loved the BCS in its era, to watch media couldn't control outcomes anymore was a fabulous feeling. Then we discovered that control went to the PhD Comp Sci kid living in his mother's basement! Lol! I have a feeling when we get to heaven we will see all sports were a waste of time because man corrupted all of it!. Golf is next.

The best way to get fairness in any given sport is to stop watching it. The problem is that can kill the sport. Heavyweight boxing has never recovered from its corruption of Ali vs Spinks. (Yes, it has had some highlights but never the numbers it once had) Hopefully, the media realizes they are risking an entire industry...football. Shoot who am I kidding they don't give a crap as long as they have the control is all that really matters to them.

I would invite them anytime to play 9 SEC teams a year. They would all be 8-4 or 7-5 each year and they get all this BS rankings playing squirrels!

Miami will stomp the dogshit out of ND and hopefully thus eliminating them...

Doubtful but we can hope.

Being healthy enough is probably a much bigger issue that most teams don’t get

Strength of schedule should be a factor. Notre Dame shouldn’t get a free pass. Looks like Miami is free and clear too.
