Filings in Louisiana and Kentucky are exposing the same major crack in the NCAA defense.
In Louisiana, the Texas Trial Group team in the Pyburn case revealed that the written age based eligibility rule in the 2026-27 NCAA manual has zero written exclusion for the freshman class of 2022.
In Kentucky, the RAP 20 appellate response argues the new 2026-27 NCAA manual, uncovered via Akron after being distributed only to institutions, does not exclude 2022 athletes.
The NCAA is fighting across multiple courtrooms to enforce an exclusion that is not in the text of its own manual.

Remember how Tom Mars tried to dunk on this Ryan Downton dude saying he was a fly by night lawyer living in a steakhouse or something

Sankey was anointed the crown during the era of SEC peak dominance in ALL sports and is like a lifelong politician, he has no clue and feels he's untouchable.

potentially significant new issue just emerged in the 5-for-5 litigation, straight from the NCAA’s current Division I Manual.
We obtained the 2026-27 Manual, date-stamped 9/3/26, and independently confirmed what Kentucky plaintiffs raised in court today.
Bylaw 12.6, “Five-Year Period of Eligibility,” says an athlete’s period of eligibility for practice and competition “shall be limited to five years.”
What 12.6 does not contain: an exclusion for the 2022 cohort, or language saying athletes who exhausted four seasons in 2025-26 are barred from that five-year model.
That matters because the NCAA describes Article 12 as part of its “operating bylaws”.
The NCAA does have separate transition language in Proposal 2026-44 that it will rely on. But that restriction is not written into Bylaw 12.6 itself.
The Kentucky plaintiffs have now put that issue directly in front of the Court of Appeals.
This could become a very important new fight over what the NCAA’s own eligibility rules actually say.

According to ESPN, Finebaum, Dellinger, and the rest of the media whores, this is a physical fight between SEC and Lane Kiffin. No players are during anyone, it’s just the big bully Layne beating up on poor old Sankey. So clearly, no other states or players have anything to do with this, right????
