Welcome to the world of track and field. Almost any American coverage is terrible. I'd rather watch meets in foreign languages I don't know than listen to these idiots.

It's not just awful commentary, it's bad camera angles, piss poor production, and no sense of the overall event. It's staggeringly incompetent. Look at how they covered the women's 110m hurdles. It was almost like they forgot it in between commercial breaks.

They've taken 20 commercial breaks in 30 mins.

very true. hell, at least they're showing it. I love following our track team and wish the SEC's could be covered-especially considering our women's dominance in it since Shaver took over. now he needs to have that success at nationals.

That happens all the time. American coverage really takes the fun out of the events. Take for instance, in about 10 minutes there is going to be a serious all-high school mile race at the NY Grand Prix with 2-3 guys who have a chance of breaking four. The race may get a mention if we're lucky. Good storylines they just trash. I hope I'm wrong, that race is going to be fun to watch.

I hope youre joking. Shaver hasn't brought the women anywhere. He has maintained, and actually underachieved for the most part with the women.

In Henry's last years, we really didn't have that great of success at the SEC's. I just said he made us a better contender at the conference level, but the nationals performance is lackluster.

SECs aren't worth much. Sure it's fun to say you won it, but in track and field there is only one meet, nationals. If you are a major team like LSU and you don't do well at that meet, you didn't do your job.

What are the places worth in the 4x400? What do they need to catch LSU?

Ugg, I don't see this ending well for LSU. Auburn running a huge run, not that it matters.

Jesus Christ. That was sort of awesome.

ETA: 5 point swing of the DQ didn't matter in the end. A&M won by 5.5.
