That's always been the case, State is basically "little brother" in the Triangle. UNC changed their fight song lyrics from "Go to hell State" to "Go to hell Duke" to reflect that. But State actually had a solid win over UNC this year, they just didn't do anything with it.

My daughter, an LSU grad, lives in Raleigh, a 7 minute walk from the NC State campus. She sent me this photo yesterday while on walk down the street from her house. She said there was a lot of honking as cars drove buy….

does this shite happen everytime a coach goes from one school to the other? Is it just because were so close to the situation that it seems bigger than other situations at other schools or is it really a bigger deal than when it happens other places, pearception wise?
