We do realize that TJ was asked to do 1/10 of the offense compared to Myles right? TJ was really good! Not downing the kid in any way. He really surprised me with his accuracy. But he was really helped by the running game finally coming alive.

I did like the goal line formations under center. Glad we got creative and used his size. But Myles is the starter and hasn’t done anything to suggest otherwise.

No, Ranters still have not realized this.

I think it would be more accurate to say Myles is further along in his development than TJ.

TJ looks like he may have more potential with time.

Brennan is not a run threat and defenses love that. We saw TJ and Max both show, as true freshman, they are indeed a run threat so a defense must honor that....adding an extra dimension to our offense.

What’s so hard to comprehend about that?

Never thought I’d see so many people triggered by a great performance.

Well said. Although I don’t believe we have seen Brennan’s ceiling yet.

Ultimately we have seen Finley play one half of football. If the coaches decide they think he is the better option, I’ll trust them. If they decide Brennan gives them the best chance to win, I’ll trust them.

He scrambled for 7 yards on the play on which he was injured.

He averaged 4.6 YPC last season.

The actual facts are that we haven't seen designed quarterback runs called for Brennan like we did the other two.

People are triggered because folks are calling for Myles to be benched after getting better each week and playing through a torn abdominal in the Mizzou game. I’m excited after seeing Finley play but I’m not prepared to proclaim him our #1 QB based on one half.

Brennan is mobile enough. Finely’s rushing numbers were positive because LSU took no chances with him, which was the right thing to do with a freshman QB. LSU didn’t test SC deep, as it was a medium depth route was intercepted. LSU has routinely tried to take the top off of defenses with Brennan. It’s led to big plays but also has led to sacks. That negative rushing number is what is confusing the easily confused Ranters.

Some people are calling for Finley to start, yeah. Many, MANY more are downgrading Finley’s performance in order to defend Myles. This thread is a perfect example.

Myles is a big boy. He doesn’t need y’all’s sympathy.

I don’t see the issue. Some are arguing that Finley should be the starters. Others are making the counter-argument, which is that he wasn’t asked to carry the offense like Myles was. That counter argument wouldn’t exist if folks weren’t calling for Myles to be benched.

That’s what happens when people disagree on a message board.. if more people are defending Myles, it just means that those who want Finley to be the starter are in the minority.

i honestly don't understand why people think things will change? Brennan has a torn ab. theres only 1 month left in the season, the way they said his ab is shredded it definitely won't be healed before the season ends. i guess he could attempt to play through it but after how Finley played i'm not sure why we would feel the need to attempt that

If 3 threads are started saying Finley should start, and that spawns 40 threads* saying Finley isn’t the real deal and Myles needs to keep the job, would you say that’s a bit overkill? Almost, overcompensating for something?

I’d rather see no “Myles > Finley” or the other way around threads. If you want to shite on Finley—be my guest! Strange fandom you’ve got there, but hey, do you.

Edit: threads*

This is a fair point. If Brennan is hobbled, it doesn’t make sense to bring him back.

Yeah... exactly. And yet the threads keep coming to doodoo on Finley (calm down OBJ!). Hence me saying “I’ve never seen so much pearl clutching over a great performance”

Other than quitting the team, what could Myles do to "suggest otherwise" ?

Sure TJ wasn’t trying to push the ball downfield as much and I wouldn’t really call him a running threat as I would more of a threat to actually run with the ball. But it worked and was extremely efficient and looked easy even with a lot of penalties. 0 punts. I don’t know if MB is trying too hard to be Joe and super explosive by looking deep first and then coming back short which caused him to hold on to the ball too long or is that the coaches telling him that’s the progression. Regardless hope the coaches and or MB saw how easy it was and use more of that approach if MB is the guy to get the ball out quicker and move the chains and keep our D off the field longer. Then with Myles u can try a few more things downfield a game but keep it simple and quick hitting slants and running game and let that open up the downfield game and minimize sacks.

I’d rather see everyone shut up about it and let the coaches decide. But we both know that’s not realistic on tRant.

I don’t think my posts have been shitting on Finley at all. All I’ve pointed out is that the game plan was different. (And I’m not the OP.) There are plenty of people legitimately shitting on Myles, though.

Again, it’s a message board and there are two sides to every opinion.

Me: why is everyone so upset by this great performance

You: because some people think he’s better than Myles!

Me: okay, but why all the shifting on Finley to prove your point Myles is better?

You: I wasn’t shitting on him! I’m not the OP!

Of course there are two sides to every opinion. All I said was that there’s an awful lot of worry coming from people defending Myles. And I’m not totally sure why they think shitting on Finley is the way to go. I know you aren’t OP, but you responded to my first post, defending the Myles > Finley thread. No harm, no foul.

Third times the charm here: yeah, I know, but there are far more making excuses as to why Finley played well and downgrading his performance.
