Joe's success was mainly due to he work ethic, studying, and learning this offense. The spectacular thing about Burrow is his accuracy and his pre snap reads and data processing.
Myles can use Joe's success as a motivation. He can work on accuracy, studying, etc. The only issue might be his data processing speed. That is hard to be learned. So hopefully he uses this as motivation to bust it and hopefully he has the leadership similar to Joe.

All he needs to be is the best he can be. Something between our historic average QB and Joe B.

Joe's pocket presence was his greatest attribute

Well, I think the numbers are reasonable with the offensive system, and returners. But yeah, definitely shouldn’t try to compare or compete with joe.
So LSU loses
Burrow, replaced by Brennan
Jefferson, replaced by McMath
CEH, replaced by Curry, TDP, Emery
D. Lewis replaced by Ed Ingram
Moss replaced by Arik Gilbert
These we know FOR SURE....
The drop off will happened because what Burrow did was HISTORICAL, but looking at what’s coming back and if Brady is the real deal and a QB guru, then i really think we can expect a really good LSU offense.

If they make the offense for him, then that will give us the best chance of success.
Asking him to do what Burrow did would be a disaster because he's not Burrow.

The mold has been set. He just needs to fill!

I think the coaches know not to expect that.
With the stable of RBs they’ll have next year, they may want to go a bit more balanced. And they have the talent to do it. It’s just about Brennan making the throws. He definitely has the arm to do it. And the system is similar to what he run in HS (RPO/shotgun)

That’s the thing about perfection, it’s unsustainable and there is only one possible direction to go. Just ask Clemson.
However, Matt mauck and Matt Flynn were no joe burrow either. With an improved defense and a capable offense I think we are right in the thick of it again.
A fairer comparison for Brennan will be the offensive output of next year vs 2018, before joe Brady. I agree I think we learn a lot on this topic next season.

Fortunately we have a stable of good RBs. We won't have to rely so much on his arm.

If he’s a 3500+ yard, 30 TD guy who doesn’t create turnovers.
Haha. So the greatest season in LSU history for a QB other than what Burrow just did??
Yes, I think we would appreciate that!!

There are two traits that have been crucial to Burrow’s success that really get over looked, and will likely be trigger points for fans in regard to Brennan if he is the QB next year
1)extending plays in the pocket
2)mobility escaping pocket for 1st down/ designed runs
It became such second nature to watch Burrow do this all year, never realizing just how rare that is.
With Brennan, LSU will be sacked a whole lot more, & they will punt a whole lot more.
Multi threat QBs make the world go round in CFB in 2020. Brennan will have his moments but in the end he is capped because he isn’t mobile & he’ll never have the pocket awareness Joe had. These are things that are not privy to any system. It won’t just be turnkey

Do we know for sure Moss is declaring?

That was one of Joe’s lowest % completion games last night.
Yeah - it was a shame he had to dump so many off to avoid a sac - and more than normal drops.
BUT - he also threw more bad (unmatchable) passes than I have seen all season.

the same thing i was telling a fan for the aggie game. it will be more running and they will have myles throwing in the right spots. i really believe we can go back to back next year

There may be some pressure, but to think Myles will have the same success as Joe is dumb. He is a once in a lifetime QB. I actually think Myles will be chomping at the bit to get the keys to this program next year. I just hope he shadowed Joe all year, and learned what it takes to be a great QB. Extra work & practice, film study, etc... I also hope him and the WR's are already playing catch and putting in all the extra hours that Joe did with his group. LSU is on the rise, and I dont see this program slowing down in the near future.

Why's that the ceiling? He's a former UA AA. He comes from a prolific spread offense, has a big arm and certainly is mentally tough after enduring a lot these last 3 years. If anything he may have a better story than Joey B in two years.

There will be only one Joe, like him or not Dems have to realize there is only one Obama, Myles just be Myles and the rest will fall in place
Posted on 1/14/20 at 12:35 pm to Iam_PrinceAkeem
I'm sure Brady/Ensminger will find the right fit for him... perhaps more run in the RPO option.... He will still have great receivers as well.

I don't think anybody has claimed Joe Brady as a qb guru, he brought in a very great offensive scheme that was perfect for Joey B and is probably better for Myles who came from a spread offense. Burrow credits Slinger for helping him develop and I bet Slinger is juiced to hand the reigns to Myles

Nobody should expect Brennan to come close to Burrows stats especially next year...
