he would be a top 5 pick next year
And lose every bit of leverage.

Not saying it’s gonna happen bc I think he leaves, but he’s a redshirt sophomore. He absolutely has another year of leverage. But he’s not gonna need it bc he’s finna get paid

Very little chance. He has too much potential and will be drafted too high.

Well your guess is wrong

He will get drafted high, they will low ball him though. It's risky because he has leverage to come back
You’ve got this backwards

I think Shores is going to have a really good postseason
I think he may end up being one of the key pieces to winning it all
Offenses tend to be tight in the postseason under pressure and I see him really capitalizing on that

If Seattle drafts him he gone. Massive draft pool money

Which is why they have minor league baseball.
Absolutely right, but I’m basing my feeling on a mix between a disappointing 25’ season making him wanna return for ‘26 and just pure hopeful thinking on my part. I want to see his command improve and him be an ace at LSU in ‘26.

I think he's gone. His raw measurables are elite. His numbers aren't great this year, but he's improving steadily after an injury, has his velo back, and his ceiling is very, very high.
MLB will risk a high draft pick on that sort of player.
This is a good analysis. I’ll add that if he stays it’s because he is being paid very well.

and he certainly needs a lot of work before jumping to the next level.
If he struggles here, he won’t play. If he struggles in minor league baseball, they’ll keep putting him out there. Jay’s job is to win games first. Minor league baseball’s job is to develop young talent.

That’s an excellent point. I remember when Grant Taylor entered the draft. I had high hopes he’d want another year at LSU, but I certainly could never blame anyone for taking the signing bonus and going to work.

The highest draft projection I have seen for him is 111, which is a fourth round pick with a 680,000 slot value. Whether he gets drafted or not depends solely on what he values himself at this year. If he’s willing to take in the neighborhood of 750 to leave, then he’ll get drafted. If he wants more, he won’t.

He’s struggled plenty this year and he keeps playing.

Those are slot values. Some teams will be able to pay well over slot. He will likely workout an agreement with one of them

He struggled here and got taken out of the rotation. In the minors, they would keep putting him in there. He has no limit on how much coaching he can receive. He plays more games. He gets way more development than college can ever provide for him because winning baseball games is not the job of a minor league manager. It’s getting talent developed for the big leagues.
If he comes back he either improves his stock to a first round pick or he loses money. It’s a numbers game and a risk/reward evaluation. There’s a reason guys in his position don’t come back often when they’re drafted in the top few rounds. Bird in the hand is better than two in the bush. He’s also already had one major injury.
Griffin Herring didn’t come back to start and maybe improve his stock. He signed for 850k and turned into a starter in minor league baseball. He didn’t need to risk what he already had in front of him. Same with Grant Taylor. Had on ok freshman year, walked a lot of guys, showed potential. Got hurt, got drafted high enough, took the money
