Really, Atlanta, Orlando great cities? Both Suck , just saying.
Playing on Friday night in Jerry's world is way better than being one of the too many bowls on New Years no matter what because of the exposure IMHO.
If it is New Years day who really remembers it anyway?

I just want to win Scorched Earth style again, 42 -10 or something like that. Hopefully some team We hate?

4 and 5 star recruits also look at where we have played previous years. They recognize that they will be here for a few years, not just one.

If we blow away the opponent it will look good no matter what the bowl. I just want to win, winning big is also good.

By the time the Cotton is Played, most fans are FOOTBALLED OUT.The only people that will give ashit about the Cotton are the fans of the two teams.

If you cant be in a BCS bowl then it doesn't matter which bowl To me. It's more important who we play.

Of course it matters. Why would you even ask that?

Gotta disagree. A lot of folks don't get 'footballed out'; myself, I could watch more if the games are good matchups, and it looks nice on the tube. For some reason, the Cap One in particular just looks crappy on TV. The Iowa game in 2004 looked ugly, so it wasn't just the shite-swamp against Penn St.
Jerry's world is beautiful, and a nice place to play. It's also on Fox; they make a big deal out of it because they don't have a bunch of bowls, and since I'm watching NFL on Fox too, I know/like the commentators.

I do lose track of the New Years games and who's in which game. I can't even remember which SEC team smoked what B1G team

It really doesnt matter and once the playoffs happen we will be in it almost every year.

The diff isnt that big. We split the bowl money with the entire conference anyway. You will have 2 sec teams in bcs bowls and a slew of other sec teams in the next tier.

with the conference splits, it's all about the same. Travel money comes into play. Cotton is better for us on that account, too.

The last time LSU was in the Cooton was a FRIDAY night like 5 days after the NYD bowls. The only people that gave a shite were LSU and A & M fans. I understand you saying that "its the only game on" But its too many days after the regular New Years day games.

personally, I don't really care for the New Year's morning bowls in Florida. Cotton or ChikFilA are fine with me

Umm... it's a 4 team playoff, decided by guys in suits from all conferences. prepare to be very disappointed if you think we're a lock every season.

most likely, we will see-

SEC champ
Pac 12 champ
Big 12 Champ
B1G champ

with Notre Dame bumping someone; probably the B1G this season (for example).
with ACC (Clemson or Fla St) bumping someone if they're top 4.

Say goodbye to the following-
SEC at-large (like Bama last year)
Big East
Cinderella teams

This is designed to break the SEC strangle-hold. If it were an 8 (or more) team playoff, it helps us. 4 teams levels the field for everyone else

I hope so, but that's really bold -- "in it almost every year" ---- it's simply not true....

Let's look back:

2005 -- would NOT be in it.

2006 -- would NOT be in it.

2007 -- in.

2008 -- would NOT be in it.

2009 -- would NOT be in it.

2010 -- possibly in it.

2011 -- in.

2012 -- would not be in it.

2 - 3 times in 8 years --- and I think that's about about all we can expect... after all -- it's pretty well documented that this is a tremendous run for LSU in those years - so expecting to go UP from here is thinking VERY high expectations.

If we are in the playoff (top 4) 2 out of 5 years, I think that will be phenominal performance.

no, we wouldn't be in 2010. I think 2006 would have been closer, but still unlikely.

The 4 teams are chosen BEFORE the bowls, not afterwards. That means simply, we'd be in, the 2 yrs we won the BCS.
