I'm actually shocked he hasn't spent time in prison. That dude was fricking insane. He was a beast down low, but borderline psychopath.

I feel like the most underrated player in LSU history is Ronald Dupree. I am a bit biased, but he dominated the SEC as a 6'7" power forward.

Not sure if there were 30 better players but would agree more accomplished due tot he injuries sustained by Livingston and Roberts limited tenuredue to early academics and early entry to the NBA.

Derrick Taylor was one of the best point guards LSU has ever had.
I’d say from a true point perspective, Ethan Martin and Derrick Taylor were both exceptional.

Swift, Baby, N Wilson, John Williams, Blanton, Redden, Scales, Ronnie Henderson, Jamie Brandon, Hi C, many many more.

Yeah if thou take out the usual suspect:

Point Guard - no brainer....Ethan Martin.
Off Guard - Hi-C
Small Forward - Hot Plate
Power Forward - Brandon Bass
Center - Stromile Swift

Honorable Mention - Kenny Higgs...biggest snub on the all-time Tiger Team IMHO but I can't put him ahead of Ethan at pint.

This is a very good list. Could swap Marcus Thornton for Hi C, but it is very close and I can't fully decide. In future, could possibly put Temont Waters for Ethan, but not yet. Derrick Taylor is right there also.

The problems with these lists are the 2 guards size. I want a 2 that is 6’5”. I have to play the likes of a Jordan.

I’d put a 6’7-8” Jerry Reynolds at the 2. Dude was lean, could defend and score. He was a lot like the kids you see today.

Reynolds at 2. Jerry Reynolds was better than Simmons... A FAR superior defender and a great ball handler.

Me too, from all I heard the dude was a psycho, no business on a college campus or in decent society of any kind.

But that dude had a motor, probably a by-product of his insanity, but he was relentless in his effort and exertion.

Thank you. I was going to be very disappointed if this thread made it to page 3 with no mention of the Ice Man.

Much has been made of the underachievement of the Shaq, Stanley/Chris year but I would submit the 84-85 Tigers may have had more overall depth and talent than any of Dale's teams.

Ice Reynolds, Hot Plate Williams, Nikita Wilson, Don Redden, Derrick Taylor, Ricky Blanton, Anthony Wilson, Jose Vargas.

We tied for the SEC Title that year 19-10 overall then lost our first game in the SEC tourney and then got roasted by the Admiral and the four dwarfs by 23 in the first round of the tourney as a four seed.

Ricky Blanton and Howard Carter are still two of my all time favorites. That’s when I first started getting into LSU sports. And Dale Brown is still my favorite coach of any sport at any level.
