He’s not a Jayden Daniels type runner but he can pull zone reads and pick up yards and score touchdowns in the red zone. Something some other quarterbacks wouldn’t even try.

I agree, would have forced them to defend the read with at least the threat of a pull and a few QB scrambles( which were there) would have forced them out of that 3 man front IMO

Have to go back a look but with his above average(not great) mobility he would have forced Ole Piss out of that defense IMO.
You have to look at the games.

However if you want to look at stats, look at his 5 best SEC games.

1330 pass yards 10 TDs 6 ints, 2 rush TDs. That's 12 total TDs. Over a 13 game season vs all SEC teams, that would be 3460 pass yards 26 pass TDs and 4 rush TDs. That would be 30 TDs as a true freshman. That is with an awful team around him and a first time ever head coach. Sure the ints loom large, but that's what you get with youth and having to do so much because you don't have a team.

Compare that to Nuss this year. With a group of 5 opponent and an FCS team, Nuss has 1160 pass yards with 7 TDs and 1 rush TD. So only 8 TDs despite playing an FCS team and a group of 5 team. Nuss over a 13 game season would be 2930 pass yards 18 TDs and 2 rush TD. So not even 3k total yards and just 20 total TDs.

Good stuff. It obvious the kid can play on this stage. His mobility and deep ball accuracy are the two things that we lack and are killing us.

He's definitely mobile. Way better in the pocket than Nuss is right now.

He is closer to burrow than to Jayden

I agree with that but as crazy as it sounds that might be enough to be the difference in this upcoming stretch.

Look man, I’m not arguing that Nuss is playing well or that he should be playing at all. I’m still pissed that he played last week against Southeastern. I’m just saying I don’t know the MVB is as easy of a solution as some people are thinking.

Nuss is gone after this year and he's not playing worth a darn so I'd pull him and give MVB an opportunity.

If MVB doesn't play this year and then plays himself into Heisman contention next season, then I'm going to wish the most evil of all evils onto Brian Kelly.

No point in hoping this will happen. Nuss is Brian Kelly’s Jordan Jefferson to Les Miles.

Given Saban pulled his starter in the national championship game, I was kind of surprised Kelly didn’t do the same thing here in this game coming out at halftime.

Surely you’re not equating the decision making skill of Kelly to Saban?

Thing about MVB is he was thrown in as a TRUE FRESHMAN in an ONLY SEC SCHEDULE playing 6 Top 20 teams. See how Bryce Underwood did vs at OU? He did well as a true freshman with horrible players bc Miss St went 0-8. With better players to work with at LSU, a years experience playing just SEC, I don't see how it could be worse than Nuss.

I would rather MVB come in, do poorly, then switch back to Nuss, than never see him on the field.

I don’t disagree with that, but the sentiment on this board over the last week is that he is some explosive runner. He is a pro style QB. He is good for a couple of designed runs a game, and maybe a few scrambles. He prefers to throw first

Pissed me off watching his highlight from Ole Miss game last year where he pulled the read and juked defender for the TD.

Yet here we are running that with Nuss who has never pulled a read option in 18 games as a starter.

Yet someone making millions continues to sign off on that play call.

He'd probably seem like Michael Vick to us following Nuss just because Nuss never wants to run and often ends up in awkward positions backpedaling in the pocket.

Honestly, at this point, the running isn't the main issue. Nuss decision making and inaccuracy is really messing this offense up even more. And the play calling is helping no one.
