This run is probably the biggest thing that has ever happened at Murray State and I am very happy for them. Although they do have topnotch rodeo and rifle teams.
Their student body is not a bunch of rich kids getting drunk for four years on daddy's money. They are western Kentucky farmers' and hillbillies' kids who are getting the best education that they can afford.
GEAUX RACERS!

How many Murray State people are gonna travel?
I can't think they'll have much presence, but I'm rooting for them against UCLA

It actually has potential. They have room to do a lot of things.

You better not say that to Chris Guilliot. UCLA is his team, lol.

The thing is...why?
Even if they go deep in this CWS...that's not going to make the number of people in a town of 17k go up tremendously over a long period.
Maybe some upgraded stands but...a big expansion? No point.
It's just not a sustainable move unless the town magically booms.

I don’t know? I don’t know enough about the program. Their best bet is to keep winning. That only helps the program.

Their baseball budget is $858K per year. In contrast LSU is $9.99 million. Pretty good return on investment.

I never understand why there are so many assholes on the rant.

When you think about travel costs for an entire season alone, their budget is essentially nothing. That’s wild. Their HC’s salary is only $68k fwiw

Me too but UCLA is really, good. They have a shot to win it despite losing their number 1 starter.

Looking at some box scores their avg attendance is about 270. SEC teams have more fans at away games.

800?
I don’t see any seats at all.
Okay, now I see some from the picture taken from the field.

My high school baseball is better than that

That’s really sad actually. I can’t get into MLB but college baseball is awesome to watch. Especially come tournament time. It sucks because the SEC and ACC are really the only two conferences that takes college baseball seriously which is not enough for ESPN to justify showing weekly weekend matchups throughout the day like they do college football and basketball on Saturdays.

There’s enough good games to show, just the audience is limited and most watch their teams…

Right, in this NIL/free agency era its really cool to see the little guys in the Series.

I appreciate your passion but if LSU ain't playing I'm not the least bit interested in watching college baseball. But I'll eat up every inning of LSU baseball once post-season comes around.
Same with MLB, I'm a passionate Cub fan, I'll watch 100 games a year and I go at least twice to a series in Wrigley every year and at least one Cub road trip every year and I love every minute of it. But probably won't watch a full 9 innings combined of any other teams, until MAYBE the playoffs.

They tried to rob Murray State with some home cooking in the 9th at Duke. That was clear interference and should have ended the game. But, hey, that coach will not be cutting grass much longer. Taking Murray State to Omaha, he about to make bank. Someone will want that dude as a coach.
