He definitely didn’t slide directly into the bag. You can split hairs about how far inside he was, but it was 100% not direct

Yep. But honestly the rule should be changed

Miami-Ohio State 2002 natty all over again. Except the team in the Miami role held on

Did the second basemen sell it a bit, sure.
Was that textbook interference, no doubt.
Reversed because the umps didn’t want to get jumped.

That is the rule though.
Entire body…the left side of his body was in the gray area:

2) “Directly into a base” means the runner’s entire body (feet, legs, trunk and arms) must stay in a straight line between the bases.

CWS odds just shown on ESPN:
Arkansas +200
LSU +240
Coastal Carolina +600
…
Murray Stare +2000
Whoever wins Arky/LSU Saturday night going to be a big favorite to win it all

quote:Is there a pic of the Duke guy? Because he didn't look nearly as outside the oath as Milazzo was. Thanks for posting this pic back then, MOT. I would've never found it without you.
It was the same thing Milazzo was called out on last year except on the other side of the bag

quote:Yeah the camera angle being in left field is playing tricks on some people’s eyes. Just look at where he’s at on the ground when his right knee makes contact with the base. His right leg below the knee and his entire left leg was inside.

really don’t know what some of y’all were looking at. The entire right side of his body slid over the bag
What would you call this? He was more off the bag than this.

Milazzo is further outside the bag im pretty sure

Milazzo’s base path was established to the right of the bag well down the line. Thus replay doesn’t show it

This thread made me mad at Jake Slaughter all over again. Blew game 2 against Florida.

Yes and neither of his feet were within a foot of the bag. His right arse cheek barely clipped the bag.
Bottom line is baseball needs to figure this out because there is too much room for interpretation.

Well inside the bag? Worse than slaughter? Nah
