Simmons was a cowardly bust at LSU who has only gotten relevant in the NBA because he's been forced to learn the difficult and complex basketball skill: the jumpshot.

Put Pistol up there. Recruits want flash and dash and fame and scoring? Pistol was doing it decades before Magic or anyone nowadays.

Then you show them Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf and Shaq.

I would say you need to put Bob Petit up there but I'm not sure the young idiots that think Simmons is a great rep for LSU have ever even heard of Petit.

Whatever they gotta do for recruiting is fine I guess. I trust Wade. But come on, people no matter the age recognize fake arse shite and respect when one is true to themselves and their history.

Or because he is 6’ 10” can score in the paint, dish passes and rebound. He’s a triple double machine without a jumpshot. If he had a jump shot he’s be Maybe a top 3 player.

He definitely should be ok there but there is clearly more to the mural.

Recruits actually recognize basketball.

Ben Simmons just made an All NBA team.

White players that should be up there:

Not sure if this was meant to be a troll or just a sarcastic response (I'm assuming it is one of the 2 or both); but how the hell do you put a list like this together and not include Bob Pettit or Ricky Blanton.

I watched him disappear so many times at the ends of close games. Dude was and is not a Jordan alpha type player. He's soft.

I remember being front row one game and it was coming down to the wire. Dude had the ball and almost an empty lane on a fast break. He passed it to a covered team mate. No points that possession. That was him in a nutshell.

Turned to my dad after that possession, asked him if he saw the same thing. Yep.

He deferred at the end of the Oklahoma game. Led directly to a loss.

An underrated Tiger.

But to not really answer your question, last I saw him was many years ago playing in a rec basketball league in downtown Dallas. Not sure now.

The mural only represents the last 30 years of LSU hoops. 1990 to present.
