Makes me sick to my stomach every time I think of that game and how Bobby Knight intimidated the refs. They wouldn't call anything against Indiana In the second half. Upsets my stomach to talk about it.

The only truthful answer for Tiger fans over the past generation is losing Saban

But it's hard to compare anything to 1/9/12. It's not that LSU lost, it's the way the game was lost.

This. No adjustments to the game plan by LSU in the second half. That's when I knew Miles had to go.

1/9/12

Let me tell you guys a story, some have heard this before.

My first child was born in Nov of 2011. My wife called in that morning to clear her return to work from maternity leave with her boss and was told she was being let go. Yes, my wife was terminated while on maternity leave.

She called to tell me this at work but I didn’t answer because I was in a meeting with my boss being chastised because I wasn’t putting in enough hours. Specifically because I wasn’t coming in on Saturday and Sunday. Not that my projects were behind, just that i wasn't sitting in my chair playing on the internet on Saturday mornings like some of the other PMs.

After I got off the phone I called our healthcare provider to find out what it was going to cost to add my wife and infant child to my insurance. $1,356/ month. I’ll never forget that number as long as I live. My copay at an urgent care was $150. I had shitty insurance.

So I left work that day trying to get my head around losing my wife’s income (which we needed) and having to come up with an extra $1300 a month for insurance to take care of my family and get my head in the right place to go to friends house that night to watch the Natty.

And then that game…..

I was angry about that for a long time. Angry. And I understand that was driven by the circumstances of that day. But I got over it after about two weeks, and it’s the last time I got upset about a football game.
