Didn't our boy Reggie Bush get this title removed for them?

If we win in 2011, we probably repeat 2012 (No bama rematch monkey on our back) but do not get 2019 so it would really be...
3 - Alabama, (2009, 2015, 2017)
4 - LSU, (2003, 2007, 2011, 2012)

Wrong again. The AP poll was a component of the BCS formula “and nothing else”....look it up

And, unfortunately, the only thing separating #1 and #2 happened on 1/9/2012.
It happened before that. It happened when Saban failed to take Brees over Culpepper, ‘flopped’ in the NFL, and THEN returned to NCAA at Bama.

It really is incredible that Ohio St only has 2 in the last 20 years, as good as they have been.

I’m well aware of that. Your statement is correct.
However, mine is too. The AP retained its right to crown a national champion. They did not sign a contract to vote for the winner of the BCS Championship as the national champion as the Coach’s Poll did. Look it up.

And I retained my right to crown one, too.
It does not matter. USC, LSU, and every other team agreed BEFORE THE SEASON that the BCS was the one and only method to crown a champion. Game, set, match. LSU is the champ! USC and cbree88 blow.

had he won he would still be here and might have a couple more rings to boot
Which would be a good thing. To win that night, he would have had to open up the offense. By opening up the offense, we would have been more successful in the succeeding years, resulting in more championships.
But alas, it did not happen and we are where we are now with who we have now....defending NATIONAL CHAMPIONS and a bright future !!!
Let’s roll, boys !!!!!!!!

The BCS carried the Coaches Poll and nothing else. The AP Poll had no such agreement with the BCS for crowning a national champion.
Like it or not, USC was the co-national champion that year, and that’s what the NCAA record books show.
Hmmmmm. That's funny, but I don't remember USC turning down the BCS Trophy in January of 2005 ?????????
And then they 'IGNORED' the AP title.

Did we beat Bama in 2012???????

Without Saban, how many would Alabama have?
Saban choosing Culpepper over Brees is arguably the biggest personnel decision made in the last 20+ years. If he chose Brees, the Saints likely don't have a super bowl win, Miles wins the Natty in 2011 and maybe another one. Bama would be on their 3rd or 4th coach by now (maybe Saban goes there eventually), and saban is probably in the Big 10 or Big 12.

quote:If Saban had chosen Brees, he'd still be coaching in Miami. The NFL wouldn't have had the balls to suspend him/Miami - he'd have received the same kid-glove treatment Belichick did - and therefore he'd have at least two or three superbowl rings and and would retire as one of the best NFL coaches ever.

No, hence the reason I said "we probably beat Bama that year" because we do not have the monkey on our back.
The whole thing was a "what if"
