Neither Skip or Paul deserve a say, but good luck with that. They will give both a voice. Hopefully just to appease them & nothing more

Skip and Paul both deserve to be in the know, but should have very little, if any, say in the decision.

Yep Skip laughed when Sexton told him Saban wanted a million a year to come to LSU. Thankfully Emmert was there to intercede

Skip laughed from the dugout?

Even worse, he will probably push for brian o’conner at virginia. Hopefully we have enough sense to ignore that

I wouldn’t say Skip has a bad record of hires though.

He hired a coach that won a football national championship and a coach that won a baseball national championship.

Smoke didn’t work out but on paper it wasn’t bad. Trying to pull young Bianco away from Ole Miss might have been a better savvier move though.

Godwin would be fine, the fan base would hate his personality though

He didnt have a bad record of it, but his time of being involved was a long time ago now. Not sure he is involved enough and plugged into the college baseball network to have a great opinion

Correct

I would go a step farther and say I’m positive he isn’t involved enough to have an informed opinion.

Not sure I agree (about Godwin being a fine choice). He’s been successful at ECU but he’s a Paul disciple. I’d like to get away from Paul’s philosophy, mostly because I have a hard time figuring out what it is. Small ball with guys that can’t bunt or can’t make contact or Gorilla Ball with guys who only pop the ball up and strike out.

Coincidentally I’ve heard rumors that Godwin is a finalist along with the coach from Dallas Baptist.

I had a conversation with someone yesterday and neither of us could come up with what the identity of a PM team was for the past 5 years.

CPM sort of lost his way there once Godwin left

I think one his biggest problems was way over correcting when the ball changed. That and he really sucked at hiring. Way more misses than hits

“Paul’s philosophy” is kind of a made up thing. That’s why you have a hard time figuring it out.

I don’t really think baseball is a philosophy sport. Recruit good players. A good player has power & speed and everything else.

Some won’t be as multi-dimensional, which is where you start to fill in with complimentary players as you see fit
