Of course, like I said, O isn't a real head coach so he has no idea how to put a staff together. I would imagine that his football ignorance was showing, Canada called him on it and O didn't like that shite. You see, the boss doesn't like when his underlings are better at shite then he is. There in lies the problem with hiring O as the head coach.
Let me put it to you like this, If one of your underlings was questioning your leadership and talking shite about you behind your back, what would you do? Does not matter if objectively you are smarter than your boss, he's your boss and whether you like it or not, someone with more at stake than you made him your boss. If you are so damned smart, then maybe you need to go someplace that will hire you in an overall responsibility position and you can prove it.
That's how the real world works...good luck with your job search

So Les should’ve fired Orgeron?

you are making this up. LSU ain't paying $3 million to get rid of Canada.

I think the vetting issue has to do with O and Canada sharing an offensive philosophy and being on the same page.

CEO is running a team, not a Italian mob. He needed to shut up and let his OC do his job. Not get into a fist fight with him and force the university to eat $3 million so he can get a guy who's "loyal" to him
Agreed, but don't think its going to cost LSU $3M unless Alleva does something stupid. Canada won't be unemployed for long and his buyout from LSU will be offset by whatever he makes coaching elsewhere.

If they fire him they are on the hook for the remainder of his salary.
This has been a colossal cluster frick.

Also said this is 100% a failure on Ed's side as well for not properly vetting Canada.
Either A) he knew what he was getting but actually had no idea know what he wants or B) he had no idea what Canada brought to the table

and obviously some people on here think that they know everything that is going on inside Tiger football. all you know is what the talking mouth Matt is saying on the radio or what ESPN spits out.O is the coach. there is nothing that you can do to change that.just support the team and quit crying like a damn baby. I swear some of you people are ten years old and playing on your mom's computer.

This board today is a classic example of groupthink

Irony is O did this when Les was still in town
He was the narc for the boosters and Alleva. That was why he was pushed on Miles.....difference was, Orgeron did not question or try to undercut Miles in public.....he was a rat.
Now he's in a position of power and thus far his record as HC is not all that bad. He wins the bowl game and gets in a few more high profile recruits, he's safe for the next 3-4 years. If he wins 9-10 regular season games next year maybe he has year 5.
Posted on 12/28/17 at 4:18 pm to whatiknowsofar
Who vetted that lunatic Moscona and why isn't that loser already fired?

What does this even mean? O is shitting the bed and is rightly being criticized. Then there a few pencil dicks like yourself that keep saying theyre above all this while posting nonstop in every thread. GTFO already if this is all beneath you.

Basically saying how can you confidently have someone run a business when you're pissing money away.
LSU football is making money...a lot of money. I can't stand Alleva, but this is a dumb complaint. A misstep that costs money isn't optimal, but missing on an OC isn't a reason to question the entire business model and those running the show.

He's absolutely right. But, again, a misstep on a hire isn't the end of the world. Who Orgeron hires will be much more important. Let's be honest. Despite all of the turmoil, Orgeron and Canada were able to get things going pretty damn well in the back 2/3rds of the season. That deserves some recognition.
Moscona often likes to bitch without having a logical conclusion to his whining. I didn't hear him, but if your post is accurate this seems like one of those times.
And, it misses the bigger point. The Canada mistake (by some miracle) didn't cause LSU much if any harm this past season. And, more importantly, despite the fact that nobody would have wanted this to be happening after Canada was hired, Orgeron is actually sitting on an opportunity to IMPROVE the program. There is no guarantee that will happen but I'm definitely going to be paying attention to that before I start criticizing losing/firing Canada.
