Moscona makes a good point about how to possibly beat UGA.

The last team to beat UGA was bama in last year's SEC Championship game.

Bryce Young threw for 421 yards and the bama offense ran for 115. Most of the rushing yards came late and 40 from Young. LINK

Jayden is capable, he just has to let it rip.

Oh, and bama was +1 in the turnover battle with a pick six. So that helps.

We for sure need to have a couple takeaways and not give it up ourselves. We need pre-Arkansas Jayden too.

Asking Jayden to throw for 400 against this defense is absurd.

If they play like they did from the stretch of Fla thru Bama they can win
If they play like the recent stretch of Ark thru A&M they will lose

You’ll need JD to throw for 210-240 with about 110 - 125 on the ground. With most of his runs picking up on 3rd downs. Like Saban, Kirby tends to have issues with QBs with wheels.

we haven't lost a game to a team with a run heavy, or hell even a balanced, offensive attack since probably 2018 LSU. All losses since then:

18 bama: passing
19 SC: their offense was practically non existence, they won with a pick 6 and our own ineptitude
19 LSu: passing
20 UF: passing
20 bama: passing
21 bama: passing

Basically...if you want to beat the modern/current version of UGA it's going to be by having an elite passing attack with dynamic first round WRs and more often than not a heisman caliber QB.

Yep, if LSU has over 500 yards of total offense and a pick 6 with no offensive turnovers of their own, they should win. Brilliant analysis.

So all we have to do is ask our QB to perform like a Heisman winner against the toughest defense he'll probably ever face? Sounds easy enough.

LSU fans me included are reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaching for ways that LSU could possibly pull out a win.

ESPN is giving LSU a 17% chance of winning. I think that is generous.

Woah there, buddy. 2019 LSU could absolutely balance the pass when the run thanks to ol’ CEH.

But I appreciate your point.

Nice point, but 2019 LSU was a passing team with two top NFL receivers on it and an NFL level QB. CEH didn’t play against Georgia. Other than that I completely agree with you.

Win 3d down, on both sides of the ball, all game. Make more plays to extend drives and end drives than GA does.

Our DEF will not last a 4 qtr ground and pound game. We need to get off the field, and we need to sustain drives IOT win the TOP/field pos stat & get points.

Make them play a 4 qtr game.

I don't care to rewatch, but I would bet that Bama had a very competent special teams unit. I would bet that Bama didn't give UGA freebies at the 35-yard line on 1 in every 3 kickoffs and completely deflate both your team and your fans...in the simplest phase of the goddamn game.

With respect to your point, 2019 LSU had 38 passes / 36 rush.

If our D can get back to the way they did the last 3rd of the season before A&M they can keep UGA in the mid to low 20's LSU has a chance.

UGA is stout vs the run giving up only 79yds per game. If Daniels doesn't challenge the UGA DBs and take shots downfield LSU won't win. He has to make quick decisions. Throw or go. No indecision sacks. JD has 40 sacks compared to Max's 33 at this point last season. A majority of those were holding the ball too long.

So the key is to have Bryce Young as your quarterback?

That does seem like a good point.

So, basically, JD needs to pass for more than he ever has in a single game... and do it against the best defense he's ever faced. I'm in!
