Really want to see Emery get 15+ carries. He’s a 5* top-3 RB recruit and it’s time he showed it.

a "running QB"

This is why we miss Jordan Jefferson so much nowadays.

Derrick Davis was a top running back. Give him some reps until Bradford is back.

At some point, you don’t have to run live. Bump up , thud , whatever. But damn, don’t have to go live when you hit 10 days or less from the first game.

Max is not a "running QB".
He is more mobile than Myles.
Johnson ran the ball 32 times in his two starts. Those are starting RB numbers.

Hell if you add in where he came in the 2nd halves or 4th quarters of 3 other games he had 52 carries in what amounted to a little over 3 full games.

Max so far is the the most run heavy QB we've had since Jefferson, and at the very least he's on par with Burrow.

High ankle sprain maybe? Without strict rest, those things just never heal.

Hamstring for both emery and tdp.

That's why he said it's something tdp will deal with all yr.

For the year, Max had 54 carries in six games for a 2.2 yd avg. in his two starts he had a good number of carries b/c he ran a lot of RPOs and b/c most of our RBs were hurt. One of those was against Ole Miss.

Double edged sword here...

On one hand I think we'll see Emery "emerge" and be a bell cow back this year. There's 3 reasons I think that:

1. He's put in a lot of work, including... finally... on the mental side (playbook, film). But also physically. His body is ready to go.

2. Out of necessity and under Freezy he's tweaked his running style to fit the game more and less like he's a HS superstar.

3. With TDP nicked AND he finally starting to click mentally he'll get more carries and I think he's just one of those guys that needs regular carries to get going.

On the other hand: I'm thinking it won't be up to expectations. While he'll do "very good" is my prediction, with his talents he should be better. And I do expect Kiner to shine. If one does better in the passing game (routes, catching AND blocking) the other will lose carries.

What does dunking a basketball have to with a discussion about who is faster?

Josh WilliAms is available. He's looking great and incapable of being injured.

Thank you. Running for your life is not the same as running by design. He has some design plays and a lot of RPO plays. But last year there was too much running for your life. He’s pretty good at that though.

How many white 8th graders you know could dunk a basketball? Lol

It’s an amazing feat of athleticism. Which translates to other physical traits like speed and explosion
