I think texas is. They returned a dominant rotation and as we all saw, pitching wins game (we were a better batting team than last years but still finished sub .500 in SEC play)

wasn't Texas pre-season #1?

If you look at the season as a whole, regardless in injuries, LSU had the more dissappointing season. Even w/o Renaudo, LSU should of finished better than #8 in the sec.

For Texas it was CWS champion or bust, and the best pitching staff in the country.
For us it was a rebuilding year.
This is NOT EVEN CLOSE.

I think most of our fans expected us to at the least host a regional, and alot expected to at least make it to Omaha.
that doesnt answer the OP though.
most of our fans expect the LSU football team to beat North Carolina, even though NC has 3 first team all americans on D, and a 2nd team LB to go with the first team MLB.
the rest of the universe has NC as 3 point favorite.

LSU: 5 starters returning from 2009 National Champion lineup, 2 returing starting pitchers, and returning closer. five players drafted in first 8 rounds. season ends at UCLA regional
Texas
LSU. Why? Who gives a shite about Texas...

LSU and UT both play for national championships, anything short of that almost doesn't count. I would much rather finish 1st one season and last the next than finish #2 two years in a row.
I don't think any LSU fans should be disappointed with a down year following an NC, while UT finishing another could have been season with nothing to show for it is frustrating for their fans.

Texas. We were expecting to have a down year... though not this down. We were able to secure another SEC title which was not expected.
Texas was supposed to be in contention for another title this year, but instead they are still tied with us at 6

Texas dominated almost all season with one of the best pitching staffs top to bottom in college baseball history and didnt even make it to the CWS
LSU was great for a half and bad for a half.
As far as preseason expectations and having the most disappointing season? It's probably tied. neither team made it to omaha and both were consensus top 5 teams.
Looking at the season as a whole and seeing the end result, Texas has to be more disappointing considering the talent on that pitching staff

Texas by far.
LSU lost Anthony R with an injury and was just coming back into form due to the 10-12 week layoff and we lost a very, very good leadoff hitter mid season -- Excuses but there was two major injuries and this severely hampered our results. Now, it would have helped if we would have had some production out of Ott and got some decent clutch hitting. But, Texas had no excuses -- this was their year -- I don't think they had any major injuries. I watched their games with TCU and it looked like most of the guys from the series with us last year in their starting line up. And, the excuse of running into good arms is just that. TCU ran into some good arms as well, right? They beat Texas on the road with UT's staff what was called the greatest college pitching staff ever assembled by numerous ESPN gurus for the week leading up to the super regional. No excuses when you are beat 2 out of 3 at home with the experienced star studded lineup the Horns had. Go read UT's head coaches comments -- they got beat. No excuses

Texas. Look at the pitching they returned. Also, didn't note any major injuries they incurred. That would be like Texas losing Jungmann. Of course they could have slid Ruffin back in at starter. Workman was in the bullpen last year. Also all of their pitching improved, ours not so much.

I'm going to say a tie. Texas was preseason ranked #1 and we were preseason Top 5. We made the regionals and they made the super regionals. Both disappointing but I don't think one out disappointed the other considering preseason ranks.

At the beginning of the yr, everyone would have expected LSU and UT to at least host a regional. LSU didn't, UT did. LSU was more of a disappointment.

Texas
They played at home, had the top pitching ERA in the nation, a top 2 in the nation fielding percentage, and 5 returning starters.

Texas, we were coming off a title and had lost a lot of star players. UT was the favorite from the beginning and lost on there own field.
