It was for the tryouts for the US national soccer team. They busted our asses. There was no time for any extra curriculars.

The key word here is summer. Look at pictures from the Jackson State game. The field looked phenomenal.

As for the stadium, it needs major work, but the threw some giagantic banners on the the sides, and it looks a lot better.

our seats in the LSU section last time I went were fairly roomy... plus, just about everything is a sideline seat... no crappy upper deck endzone seats!

Actually...

Named for Don Magruder Scott, an Olympic sprinter and one of the University's first football stars, the 94-year-old historic facility (the nation's second-oldest Division I-A campus football stadium) has undergone four renovation and expansion projects during its history.

We shite on Scott Field from time to time, but it might be worth knowing that of the 68 BCS teams' home stadiums, Scott Field is bigger than 23 of them.

MSU has a bigger Stadium than:
Boston College
Duke
Wake Forest
Maryland
Georgia Tech
Connecticut
Rutgers
Syracuse
Cincinnati
Louisville
Minnesota
Northwestern
Indiana
Colorado
Kansas
Kansas State
Iowa State
Baylor
Washington State
Oregon
Oregon State
Stanford
Vanderbilt

We also Draw more than a LOT of D-1A schools that have a larger stadium

EX: Memphis
Tulane
UAB
Central FLA

1) These aren't on-campus stadiums, and they were built and owned by their municipality and not their university. If MSU couldn't outdraw these three, they should be removed from the SEC.

Central FLA
On-campus stadium, smaller than Davis Wade. (Used to play at the Citrus Bowl.)

Yes it was the summer, but still, every other stadium I saw this summer their fields were in a lot better condition then Moo State. Hell, Birmingham Southern's field was 5 times better then MSU. Granted it was a turf type field, but there is no reason for a D-3/NAIA type school has a better field then a SEC school.

I enjoy going to MSU for games. That field is always perfect. MSU & Auburn have the best looking fields in the SEC & probably country.
People that knock the stadium are likely just saying so because it doesn't hold 80,000 people.
The stadium is clean, there are no bad seats, nice jumbo tron, and they have good consessions.
Parking isn't bad. There's plenty within 3/4 mile of the stadium and they provide shuttles for the lazy asses that don't feel like walking it.

People have no idea how much better the SEC stadiums are compared to the rest of the country as a whole. I met some Oregon people a few yew years ago and they had made the trip to Starkville and they commented on how they couldn't get over the big crowd there as well as the great food.

It will look very good, it is gameday, SEC gameday at that with a top 10 team coming to town. Of course it will look good.

No doubt! The Turf & Grass program at State is one of the best in the country. Hell! State sells grass to stadiums all throughout the country.

Made the journey to M.S.U./Starkpatch once, back in the 80's when Arnspsarger was coach and the Tigers were playing for a Sugar Bowl birth. Will NEVER make that trip again under any circumstances.

State traditionally has the best turf in the S.E.C., though nothing will ever look better than the field at South Carolina did last night. The quality of both the grass (looked like artificial turf) and the field paint job were just about the best I've ever seen college or pro.........

Alleva needs to put out a few bucks and hire their turf manager (and his entire crew) away from SC. Would be money well spent..........

So, you will not be making a trip to Starkville, because a trip in the 80's?
