of the trauma we all had 8 years ago yesterday courtesy of the stubborn Les Miles who refused to changes things up to light a spark for the Tigers. I was at the game and actually had a bad feeling around lunchtime and walking the Quarter and seeing nothing but Bama fans. Bama wanted that game so badly, brought the crowd and emotion, and we couldn't match it.
Now, turn ahead 8 years.....this is such a different feeling! I don't think I'll sleep til Tuesday morning. Such excitement.

60 more minutes of football, and the new decade would wipe away the pain we all felt that night!!

Why do fans keep posting about that cursed day after one of the best seasons of this team’s history and right before the National Championship game?

Grow up.
Get over it.
Jefferson gave LSU the best chance to win the game.

In all honesty.

I think the team knows this. They want this for Louisiana, as much as they do LSU, as much as they do for themselves.

This just has that feeling to it.

That’s fanhood in a nutshell. Highs and lows, goods and bads. Don’t jump ship, just ride it out. These are special moments. Don’t come around very often. I’ve enjoyed every second of it!

Because of nervousness. We had one of the best team in history then too....and we got taken to the woodshed and embarrassed.

This has...up to now...been the most enjoyable LSU season in history. The team has conquered every challenge. They have been a blast to watch. The offense is exciting. The team is exceedingly well coached. Our QUARTERBACK won the HEISMAN TROPHY!

IF they lose on Monday, it won't be because they were outcoached, refused to adjust, ran an ancient offense, weren't ready to play, or anything that went with the circumstances around the previous regime. It will just be because another team was better than them.

If that "taste" from 2011 isn't already gone...you might need to re-evaluate your personal investment in all of this.

I am HAPPY to feel the way I do today. I am PROUD of this TEAM, I am HOPEFUL they will win on Monday. I am CONFIDENT that they will play well. If they LOSE than the RIDE TO GET HERE will the best ride I have ever witnessed. It will HAVE NO EFFECT on the TASTE in my mouth.

Why people still think this is beyond me.

The 2011 team was a supremely FLAWED team. They won with a ridiculous defense. As soon they were scheduled to play Bama again...I knew we would lose. They won on defense and guile and a ridiculous playmaker in the Honey Badger. We got to the final game of the season and the bill came due.

Thank you! You said it perfectly! I agree wholeheartedly! If they lose (which I don't believe they will) Monday night, it will not mar the beautiful season we have had, unlike 2011. That was a different time, a different team, a different coach. I will be SO proud of this team regardless of the outcome Monday evening. Geaux Tigers!

Nope. We had one of the greatest defenses in history. On offense, it was not so much the scheme as the talent.

You do realize 2011 team still has the highest avg scoring margin of any LSU squad since 1908?
And I'll go ahead and lay this on the table, the 2003 squad had higher defensive points scored than 2011 if you want to play that card.

Get the frick over it pussy. We lost a national championship game. It was a great season. We beat every team we played and we lost one fricking game. We might lose Monday night too. That won't diminish what we've done thus far. It's been a fun ride, enjoy the experience of watching your team prepare for and play in a national championship game.

Get over it and it’s nearly impossible to beat a great team twice in a season.
