Interesting. I know their team was still in the playoffs as of this weekend. Most of the other recruits are starting classes today.

I still don't understand why he signed for 1.5 million less than the slot.
Either a "deal" was done prior to the draft or the Astros said that this is the absolute best offer you're going to get.

Anybody willing to give cliff notes on Marshall, Latz, and Papierski? Or at least confirm what I think I am reading?
Im gathering that the Astros will offer Marshall somewhere over 1 mill in an attempt to sign him, after they signed Brady Aiken to under 1.5 mill of his alotted bonus. Will it be enough? Unknown... Latz supposedly turned down 1 mill signing bonus. And Papi? Don't have time to go back and read almost 30 pages of the Rant where I last left off. Thanks for those actually giving insightful information on the topic. Just wanting to get up to speed on their situations as it seems they are the 3 most likely to have tempting money thrown their way.

Correct. You haven't missed much of anything besides circle jerking and troll bait attempts.
I still think all three make it to campus; nothing from me has changed since Houston signing Aiken below slot.

Yeah I read in another Marshall thread how the Astros do have a little extra money due to signing a few guys under slot value (mostly Aiken), but the combination of Jacob Nix and Mac Marshall would require too much to sign both, so the Astros will most likely only get one of those two. I'm hoping the Astros have more desire to land Nix and he does require a lot of that saved Aiken money. Its gonna be interesting until July 18th.

Signing Marshall would take a record deal that would morph any bonus the MLB has seen in round 21. It is directly what the MLB is slowly trying to progress away from with the CBA's.
