The homepage on MLB.com says "Day 2 coverage starts at 12:30 p.m. ET on MLB.com."

Nonie picked in the 3rd. Shouldn't be too much negotiation there.

He should be a quick riser in that quagmire of a farm system.

Dawson turned something down but I don't remember what. I thought it was 4th round. He ended up going in the 32nd.

Not sure if this was posted or not, but Coastal Carolina SS Michael Paez taken in 4th rd (130th overall) by Mets

Also, I realize it's only 5th rd, but at what point could we consider Poche coming back? 10th rd or later?

Am I the only one here scratching his head over the Coastal Carolina SS getting drafted before the 1st team All SEC shortstop gets drafted???

Or, did the 1st team All SEC SS tell the scouts he wants to play another year in college??

You know college accolades mean basically nothing to where a player is drafted right?

No, I don't know that.

I would guess it's his power numbers (15HR), but maybe Kramer does want to come back and has put that out there.

Well you should. The #2 overall pick wasn't even 1st team all sec. MLB baseball cares about potential, not what awards you won in college

Kentucky had a pitcher taken in the 5th that was 2-11 and had a 6.08 ERA this past season.

He was a preseason 1st team All-American I believe. He's slugging .545 which is pretty good for a SS. He was also #403 in the BA top 500 released recently. It looks like he went much higher than projected.

That's a long way from you saying it means "basically nothing."

Players don't get drafted because they won awards. They win awards because they are considered to be good ball players.

Awards mean they were productive in college. Plenty of guys have been recognized on superlative teams that are not drafted highly. Because, like I said, those lists mean essentially nothing to a prospects worth to an MLB front office

Errol Robinson (6th #191 overall) taken before Kramer. Now that's one I don't understand

Really? I was surprised he lasted that long.
