That was one of Smokes biggest flaws. Recruiting all these hotshot kids that had no shot at setting foot on campus.

so much has changed since then. Transfer portal and no sitting out, NIL, kids choosing college because of the competition, etc.

NIL will help some but it is not a game changer for most of the highly rated prospects. Even if money is equal, many are still going to sign. They want to start their pro career.

I look at it as if they are selected in the top 10 rounds they are more than likely going to sign. Anyone selected in those rounds, if not signed by the MLB team that team loses that slot amount from their draft pool.
