But you can’t do that with 2 strikes

Here's a recap of the first few pitches for every at bat from the top of the 1st
0-2: K
0-1: single
2-0: HR
2-0: walk
3-1: single
0-2: K
0-2: Groundout
It's not that complicated. Get ahead of hitters, and usually good things happen. Fall behind, and things go south.

Never fails. There’s always some random fricking ragarm destined to have the game of his life against us.

Definitely not how we drew up the first inning.

That's not how you want to respond to anything.

Against a Sunbelt school?
Yes

In theory you’re correct, old school and analytics will always conflict in ways. This is def one of those situations. You either love or hate it

13 pitch inning…cmon Tigers work this dude
We struggle against guys that throw strikes.
We think we can take 1st pitch every pitcher and work the count deep. We never adjust for guys that just throw strikes and we fall behind every count

There’s a reason you never see a batter bunt with two strikes. You just don’t do it.

1,2,3 on 13 pitches (should have been 12, we got lucky), is not the greatest response to the top half of the 1st. LOOOOOOONG way to go. But Kade needs a quick inning soon.

This is actually fine because I'm tired of the Jay Johnson glazing. Time forever some accountability and not riding on the success of Skeens, Crews, and Paul's guys

Who else was nervous on that fly to right?

I clinched right at the end of the catch.
