I hope he does get to play , I'm excited as any about Jennings but mett brought our offense back to life and he's earned it.

I have a feeling there will be a lot of threads about Jennings starting, getting significant playing time, but Mett has earned the start in this bowl and deserves a proper send-off with a bowl win.

even this fan base is not that shallow. if mett is healthy we support him starting. i see nothing but he's earned it comments. it's just a bowl game and we all want to see mett go out on top. the future can wait one more game.

mett has earned the start, but if he's out there limping I would hope the coaches would have enough sense to have him on the bench.

We'll see... Lots of factors to consider... Obviously Mett's health #1... Date of bowl game... Opponent may also play a factor... And let's not forget it's entirely up to Mett on playing, he may decide to sit, even if healthy enough to play, but I doubt it.

Agree that Metts health is #1, and if he isn't 100, he shouldn't jeopardize what he has worked so hard for. At the same time, this guy isn't Clowney, he won't hang it up or half a** it on his team, no matter if he plays well or poorly, win or lose.

He hasn't had an MRI yet, so I don't know how they can say that at this point. Hopefully it will be negative.

AJ should have been getting experience during the season when we were playing substandard competition and had the win well in hand. Apparently LessMiles is not smart enough to figure that out. We were luckier than a dog with 2 d*#ks today. But, gotta hand it to AJ.....he done real good when it counted.

Yes, it's too bad that our backup didn't have enough experience, and we lost the game as a result. Stupid Miles.

Do you really think that Jennings had enough game experience during the season to come into that situation and be successful?
What would you have bet on that? Your farm?

Jennings is a talented athlete and that showed in our last drive.
Speaking of Miles....don't look for him on Jeopardy anytime soon.

No, but most of the folks on here don't realize AJ10 came in as an early enrollee and played the entire Spring Game. He practices with the ones a lot and is prepped every game for this scenario. I don't care if he had 50 snaps in mop up that would not have prepped him for what he had to do yesterday. That was in him from jump street...

First off, Mett has no chance in the NFL. He can't move to save his life, knee will be seen as chronic, as soon as there is a little pressure he freezes...

Several plays on the last drive, outside the scramble, would have been sacks had Mett been in there most likely.

If he is 100% he plays, but if he is getting hit in the bowl game or shitting the bed, he better be pulled.

There are several starting QBs in the league who aren't really that mobile at all.

Peyton Manning never stops moving his feet. Brady keeps his moving. Mett has a cannon. But even still, he overthrows a lot, throws late a lot, and has zero pocket presence.

He can't handle a pass rush from college teams without panicking. An NFL defensive coordinator would have a field day on Mett.

Winning this bowl game is imperative for Miles. We need any advantage we can get, so I hope to God that Mett can play.

Disagree, mett has not panicked at the pass rush. He has stood tall, got nailed in the chest, and still delivered a strike more times than not. His pocket awareness has improved greatly this season. There are times he was smart enough to take the sack when someone missed an assignment, instead of making a worse play by trying to be Manziel like. Don't understand where you get the chronic knee thing from. As far as I've heard he hasn't had any major injuries to his knee through his college career provided this one isn't a tear.

Les will definately play Mett. You just have to look at his loyalty to JJ. In addition, Les clearly does not like change. Les would rather keep doing the same thing over expecting different results.

And I agree with the idea that Met will want to play if reasonably healthy.

Personally, I don't think Mett has let on to just how bad he hurts. I play competitive tennis and have multiple injuries to various degrees (I am 45). The team captain will ask If I am "healthy". I will tell him that I am not 100% but that I am good to go because I know that I am one our best chances of winning... but also because I want to play. There are a few times when an injury has flared up and I have said, "I am hurting but I will play it you need me to." And I play.

Point is, I don't think Mett has revealed how hurt he really is. When he dragged his leg at the Bama game, some said "drama". But I knew exactly how he felt. Jennings may be 10x healthier. But he didn't practice with his receivers near as much. If Matt can play, he should and will. At the very least, it will be exciting for Jennings with the anticipation that he might have to play and I am sure he will prepare extra hard this next month.

A kid like Mett wants to play... period

When you consider the journey he went through to get to this point, I don't think your going to steal his final game, a bowl game away.

I would bet my life savings, he'd risk injury to enjoy being LSU's QB one last time..
