Yeh watching on TV sucked or maybe it was the yapping in our group. I think CBS removed most field microphones b/c of the profanity. Couldn't get the feel you can when watching other teams.

We totally dominated the Gumps but lost with 58 seconds by playing a prevent defense! This loss is on the CHIEF! However I am so proud of the players & the way they handled this game with all its pressure. Watch out next year!

There's no way you can hang this loss on the defense. They played an very good game. Alabama scored 21 on us on 1/9. Any good coach should have planned to score 22 points on them.

He didn't hang it on the defense. He hung it on the DC for the scheme he put us in on the last drive.

Oh because the coach's job is to predict the future and determine how many points they need now?

Dahulk LSU is a closet bama fan but doesn't
have the balls to admit it. Let bama start loosing & lets see which teams band wagon he jumps on.

Yes! That's exactly what he is supposed to do. You start your meeting off by saying the last time we played these guys, this is what happened. Any planning should have started with how they would bridge or over come 21 - 0. Any planning starts with where you are, and then to where you need to go. Over the past 3 years LSU has average giving up 17 points per game in the SEC. He should have planned to score at least 21 points. Further, we'd given up a last minute touchdown to USCe and aTm, so, realistically, I was praying bama wouldn't score, but I wasn't shocked when they did.

That was bad fortune, not poor execution. Hell, it was damn near perfect. Just a bad bounce. Good call by CLM. Agree on the other three.

This is beyond retarded.

This is irrelevant to the Bama game. Those were completely different scenarios as we were ahead by 2 possessions. Ahead by 2 possessions is the time to set up in the prevent defense.

In the Fall of 2010, I was driving Alabama, and I stopped at a gas station at maybe 7AM. I walked in to pay and quickly realized that everyone was wearing either a bama or auburn shirt. I wanted to fight. I wish I would have had my LSU cap with me.

Really? It's called "Goal Oriented Planning." Yeap, it has an official name. Maybe you should try it. You start with, "I want to be right. What should I now say?"

This is another one of those stupid stats people come up with by pulling a number out of their arse.

Going back all the way through the 2010 season LSU has played a total of 22 SEC games (8 in 2010, 9 in 2011, and 5 thus far this year) and they have given up a total of 327 points in those 22 games for a total of 14.86 per game. So I guess if that was the first thing the coaching staff would discuss then they must have thought they would win with 17 points.

I thought the onside kick was a great call. I didn't think the fake field goal was that smart with 12 yards, but if it would have worked everyone would be saying Les is a genius. maybe his Kicker kicks 54 yds at practice so why not the game?? He has had pretty good luck with 4th @ 1, so why not..

I'll give you credit for this one. I calculated those stats 2 days ago, but I threw my scratch paper away. I remembered that we're giving up 15 points per SEC game this year and it was 10 points last year and 18 points in 2010.

No way any of this is good. We beat them last year in their stadium because we won the special teams game. It's not ironic the we lost when we took unneccesary chances. We had a lot of bad calls, and it cost us by keeping bama in the game. I for one, hate field goals. Field goals are a fail. You prevent them by calling good first down plays.

Wow.

Field goals are the reason we beat Alabama last year in their stadium.

You know bama has a pretty good defense right? We did well against them. A&M won't have the success we did.

In fact, I don't think Miles called the fake fg because he thought it would work. He called because it would make him seem like a genius. I was shocked, just utterly shocked when they ran. The fake fg was an omg, what was he thinking moment. I agree that the onside kick was bad bounce, but that's why you usually run them at the end of the game.

Sean Payton disagrees with you.

LSU has "sinful" talent on both sides of the ball and special teams. It's just unfortunate that it's not utilized to it's best ability.

Miles was also 4 or 5 and 0 vs. Florida in 2007. I guess these things even out.
