Sounds like a plea to get teams to not stack the line so he can hopefully get the running game going.

So does this mean the first play against UGA WON'T be Scott up the middle for a yard?

Say what you want but the man is not a complete idiot. After all, his lobbying is the reason we got into the NC in 07.

The reality of it is we should've protected him (quarterback Jordan Jefferson) better, and we should've thrown it for more," LSU coach Les Miles said at his weekly press luncheon on Monday. "We'll look to be more aggressive that way as we go forward. I still want to run the football. It's too fundamental to me not to be important. But again a defense can choose to put everybody inside as Mississippi State did, and that makes it a much more difficult position to run the football. And I wanted to throw it."

Well if he wanted to throw "it" why didn't he....dosen't make sense to me....but what do I know

FWIW his wife had to tell him that we were the only undefeated team in regulation and then Miles brought it to the medias attention.

Possibly to keep everyone from knowing how they can score on our defense.....how easy it is to run the ball against us?

I like this explanation

Has anyone heard what the players honestly think about this and the lack of respect lsu is getting. I remember last year ranters were posting quotes from players honestly stating what was going on and not this prerehearsed bullshite.

Les knows its not fair to unleash our massive passing attack against unsuspecting defenses. Its the gentlemanly thing to do.

Miles was talking to the LSU fans, not the other teams.

I hope to GOD he opens up a passing game.. We're 4-0 but I wouldn't exactly credit our running for it...

Translation: Crowton has no confidence in his QB lighting up anyone's secondary, even though Miles was calling for it.

Jesus H Christ....i'm so sick of some of the fricking idiots on this board. 90% of you do not what the hell you're talking about, but you figure bashing Miles is now the "in" thing to do so you jump on the bandwagon.

Is he just following the Old School Michigan/Schembechler mindset, that you have to establish the run no matter what before you can pass? If you're not able to run the ball, just keep trying till you get it right? Would it be total heressy to establish the pass in order to set up the run? Why does he have a spread-oriented OC if he wants to stick to the old school running game?

B/c he knows we can't throw the ball so he is trying to use reverse psychology to help us run the ball.

^^ This, especially after he closed practices to the media because too much information about who was or was not practicing was leaking out.
