You are trying to say we never ever had the lead in any games in '08.

The POINT is that LSU had no defense in 2008. We could not JUST play to protect the ball and rely on the defense to win it for us the way LSU could possibly do this year.

There isnt a single game in 2008 that LSU's defense would have won the game for us. The closest is really Alabama which we went to OT in. But LSU made a come back in that game too.

I'll go with Miss St. & S. Carolina.

You do realize it is even easier to throw for yardage when you are down to another team, right. They will play a soft coverage so you can rack up yardage on the underneath route.

Exactly what is laughable....if Saban were our coach all these negatiger boo-birds would be crowing about how we don't even need to field an offense. Funny how that works when you are so deluded by bias, you can't think straight.

Miss State??

Seriously?? One of Lee's best games as a starter??

18-of-27 passes for a career-high 261 yards and two touchdowns. With Scott getting over 100 yards rushing?

Thats your proof that Lee couldnt manage a game with a good defense?

LSU scored 34 points and outgained Mississippi State, 427-285 but still only won by 10 points..

Game was close due to long return and a fumble by lsu.

If LSU had this years defense and special teams thats a huge blowout.

South Carolina LSU was down by 7 at the half.

So thats playing from behind.

Miles trying to emulate 2009 Alabama...?

Why would Miles do anything to emualte a former coach, who has suggestively been given credit for Miles' early success?

Um..until Scott got hurt, we were doing it last year. I believe our offensive line is bigger and better at the run this year.

So to prove your point, LSU had to be up two TD's and allow Lee to manage the rest of the game to win instead of playing from behind trying to win the game. Just about any QB we have or had could do that. My whole point is that Lee throws way more INT than JJ.

What did LSU do on offense against Florida that makes your statement true?

He got injuered vs Bama.

He even only had 22 yards versus Auburn.

The formula is tried and true. Good running game and good defense wins.

However, that does not mean that we HAVE to be abysmal in the passing game. It's not like Saban was preaching to his QB "hey, I want you to play so incompetently that defenses we play in the future (who are better than all the defenses we have played to date) can commit to entirely stop our running game without fear of the pass."

Jefferson 2010 makes McElroy 2009 look like Tom Brady. So while I agree that we don't have to throw for 300+ yards to compete for a championship, I'm not going to excuse the worst QB play I have EVER WITNESSED from an LSU squad.

Based on??

A team playing from behind will ALWAYS throw more ints than a team playing with a lead. Thats football 101.

However Jefferson has a TD to INT ratio of 2:4 which is pathetic AND he is playing with the lead.

How many Ints did Lee throw in the games you decided to choose? 1 versus MS State and 1 versus SC. He threw 26 passes in one game and 27 in the other.

Which is the same avg per game as JJ this year.

However JJ has not played from behind in one game and is throwing 10 fewer passes per game. Yet avgs one int a game..

Lsu scored 30 points in that game. How is that loss Lees fault? When you score 30 you should win the game. Does this years defense give up 30 there? I seem to recall lsu getting run all over by their wildcat that year.

BTW how much of that game did Lee even play? Regardless it was a loss attributed to the D

your logic doesn't matter to these people. They support JJ, and NOT Lee...despite their "positiger" moniker.

The stats, and facts don't matter. they want JJ as the qb, regardless of his inability to perform. It's someone else's fault.

Just see your sig line...they really do feel that way

Why are people even bringing up McElroy. Last year Jefferson had a better individual season as his defense, running game, and OL wasn't even close to those of Bama 2009.

Jefferson proved last tear he could be a game manager. We just didn't have the team around him. Now we have a much improved team around him and he has stumbled to start the year.

Our offensive problems are still more than just those at QB though.
