You are correct. The point I was getting at was it's no like he has no ties to CU. He has said he likes the state of Colorado and he is good friends with the man who may be doing or helping with the hiring of a new coach. Add that to the fact that he know most of the fan base does not care for him and he will not have nearly the pressure to win at Cu as he does at LSU and it is possible he leaves even if it involves a pay cut. If Les goes 8-4 at CU he will be praised there.

Also, Les was on McCarthney's coaching staff when they were Co-national Champs in the 80's.

I would not totally discount the reports that are coming out of Boulder.

You really think the fans not liking him is going to make him leave and take a big pay cut?

Word from the sidelines at the Saints game Sunday was, Miles to Cu, LSU talking with Gruden.

Just a rumor I heard Monday morning, FWTW.

Colorado is getting a fresh start in the Pac 10 where they will make alot more money. They also really want to compete. How do you know they cant come close to what LSU is paying him?

I would be more than happy to pay his plane ticket to Boulder if this is true! He is eroding the LSU program right in front of our eyes!

I never said anything about a pay cut, you actually did.

My point was Les Miles could give a rat's arse what fans think of him; it wont affect life changing decisions.

CU's AD is in terrible financial shape, not buying this. Plus they (and NU) had to pay a huge severance fee which ended up going to UT, TAMU and OU

The guy makes almost $4 mil a year. I'm pretty sure he can pay his own way.

Save your rent money.

The last time that we heard from the Saints sideline about LSU, Orgeron was coming on staff. Of course, that was true until Kiffin stepped in with more money.

What's up with the Gruden talk? It keeps persisting. Irrational rumors, or is there something to it?

I used to laugh when people would bring up Gruden. But I've been hearing it more and more lately from some reliable people. Someone told me that Gruden said LSU would be the only college gig that he would take. Why LSU? I have no idea.

he didn't coach on the NC team from 1990. He was on that staff from 82-86 with Gerry Dinardo

You guys seem to be forgetting what Miles said 10 days ago about some complaint about him:

"I DO NOT GIVE A RAT'S arse."

He is going to play this hand out. He is holding aces.
He gets nearly $4 million and he can recruit Louisiana as well as anyone ever did. The 17 guys who are verbal commits are pretty damn good and if Les gets even two more big time linemen, no one will have any complaints. He is on record as being after two more QB's besides the one commit.

Enjoy the ride. He is here through 2012.
He will compete for championships.

I would think that if Gruden came to LSU and started winning, he would immediately be targeted by NFL teams, and I personally do not want to hear the NFL talk every November (like we did when we had Saban)...
