According to Michael Bonnett and Bryan Lazare there was no curfew in effect. Bonnette basically said the curfew breaking was a tradition and accepted. Lazare estimated those out past curfew to be as many as 90 players. Who are you going to punish? According to the what happened being out at 2AM two weeks before the season opener was acceptable to the athletic department. You can't punish the players for following tradition. Somebody is responsible but its not the players (except maybe 4 who fought).
