Who will be remembered more fondly 20 years from now? Or did miles already screw that up for himself?

This is a real hard decision right now. Still think Miles is worse, mainly the recent allegations tips that scale IMO

Mainieri easily. Miles has all this sexual harassment hanging around him. His legacy will rot

Les Miles inherited a Ferrari that he managed to crash, while Pawl inherited a mess from smoke laval and an old stadium. Pawl was a more consistent winner too and wasn’t accused of trying to bang everyone with a pulse.

Easy choice as someone ready for pawl to leave

Miles and his idol Bo Schembeckler who he learned all of his life lessons from? Manieri wasn’t harassing 18 yr old girls, didn’t talk like a baboon or act like a baboon. His game plan was similar in its lack of modernization or analytics similar to Miles. But Miles stupidity and backwards thinking was one of a kind and even more amazing how many fans believed it was some sort of front of hidden genius. Beaton Vandy 3-0 when favored by 40 was somehow applauded in that Miles found a way to win. It is when i realized how dumb LSU fans truly are.

But I’m convinced just about any coach could have followed what Saban was building and have won 3 or more titles. You don’t get much dumber or as shallow of a human as Miles and he somehow won one.

I agree with most of that but this might be a stretch.

Miles backed into the 07 championship in spite of himself but also got hosed in 2011 by the bcs giving bama a mulligan. That team was as good as any LSU team* ever and was all Miles, not saban’s. So those 2 balance out.

*not counting 2019

Crap thread. It isn’t even close. Who would you rather have lunch with?

Neither. Les would be trying to cop a feel off the Server, and Paul would be crying in his soup.
