Yeah you are right. LSU never throws the ball. The worst disappointment was the year we had Mett and Landry and Beckham and we still didn't throw the ball.
So you pick 1 year out of 12 and that is your argument? I am going to ask you a question, Gray Tiger. Doubt you answer since your shtick is to ridicule and bring nothing to a thread. Are you happy with the quarterback play since Miles has been here, minus your 1 season? If not, who do you put blame on?

Call me crazy but I always thought the bigger issue was the inability to be creative in the running game to compensate for the inconsistent passing game.

This. Until we see results on the field, I ain't believing anything Miles says regarding the passing game.

Since the prevailing schtick of the anti-Miles mob is to ride with one theme even in the light of absolute falsehood, I'll answer you.
That Flynn guy wasn't too bad and that Russell guy wasn't exactly chopped liver and that Perrilloux kid did ok in my book. We have already mentioned Mett in case you forgot.
So if you count them up, in Miles' tenure there have been 4 pretty damn good QB's that played at LSU.
Who do you credit that for?
As to my adding anything, what does repeating the same tired old crapola about QB's add anything? What is new and/or original about that?
Thanks for your support.

You're really going to include Perrilloux?
Flynn had a nice year in 2007, J-Russ in 2006, Mett in 2013. Outside of that, we've been sub-par or bad every year at the QB position. I have faith in Harris FWIW.

Been saying for years the teams that passes well are the ones who dedicate their practices to passing well. Even more than the playboy or scheme you have to practice the shite out of passing to get good at it.

Do you know what our balance was in 2013? 62/38. Do you know where LSU ranked in attempts that year? 108. Balance is our problem. Your hazy recollection that we threw the ball one year more than 30 percent of the time does not a conclusion based on facts make.

whoa whoa whoa! that is crazy talk

I will believe it when I see it. Too many years this has been the mantra in the offseason, only for us to see a RB smash into a wall of defenders every single play.

We should hire the guy who coached Russell's entire career and Flynn for all but his redshirt senior year at LSU.

Some of you must be about 12 years old.
Remember this?
207-352 for 2,609
192-296 for 3,082
But by all means let's let BH throw to the receivers we have and use LF as a 3rd down back.

Exclude Perrilloux because he played very little. So out of Miles tenure you hang your hat on 3 years of descent qb play and that absolves him of criticism?

I credit Miles for bringing in Mett. He did not bring in the other two.

So the key to success is passing attempts?
I think I would take 3,000 yards passing over 50% attempts with fewer yards but that's just me.

No. Reading and understanding is something you absolutely have to get better at. You said "remember 2013, you say we never threw the ball nah nah nah."
To wit, you actually said this little gem:
quote:
Yeah you are right. LSU never throws the ball. The worst disappointment was the year we had Mett and Landry and Beckham and we still didn't throw the ball.
You really laid on the smarm in response to someone. I took your implication about how in 2013 we threw the ball a lot and showed that your perception was not borne out by the actual facts, a known problem you have.
Further, I said balance is our problem. Balance is the only free lunch in offensive football. A lack of predictability makes everything an offense does more effective. You took that to mean that the amount of passing attempts is the measure of a good offense because you are intellectually bankrupt and are more interested in a point of view where no criticism is warranted than actually openly and honestly discussing the real shortcomings.
For all of your smarm on this subject, and on the subject of the coaching acumen of all of our coaches for that matter, you sure do frick up responding to things a whole lot. Do you just make up fake arguments to respond to because responding to real ones is too hard for you? Or do you truly and deeply not understand how to respond to what is argued, especially when one is directly refuting something that you implied? I think that if you took the arguments as they came instead of being intellectually dishonest and results-oriented, you probably wouldn't be so painfully wrong and make all of the logical fallacies you routinely do.

Brace yourself. He's about to say Miles is better at coaching football than you are at your job.

If that's where he goes, then I've already won the debate.
