Just like when Aragorn didn't want to take on the responsibility of leading the armies of man against the Dark forces of Sauron.

But eventually even he gave in and realized that it was his duty to bear such a burden and has Narsil reforged so that he may lead the fight and save Middle Earth

Ensminger finally realizing he needed to be OC is just like that

Isn't Ensminger basically tailor making an offense that Orgeron wants to run?

I don't think so. I know it's ancient history, but Ensminger's offense at Georgia back in the early 90s was a pretty advanced west coast offense.

Hopefully Sullivan and Cregg are working lock-step with Ensminger to create an offense that fits our personnel.

I trust Sullivan a lot with that sort of duty.

and you know that how ????

Because Orgeron is a clown. He’s not an offensive minded coach. We couldn’t gain 1yard and beat a really bad Florida team, at home. He couldn’t beat an average Notre Dame team.
You really want O in charge of an offense?
First it’s trying to convince people he’s a good head coach, based on no facts, now that he can run an offense efficiently? Dude, C’mon, stop.

No one is trying to convince you. I hope he never has to step in on offense or defense-- that means we are winning games.

Have a say...of course. Force them to do things they might be unfamiliar or uncomfortable with...no.

Clearly Orgeron realized he had crossed a line in the past, otherwise it wouldn't have been necessary to tell everybody how he had changed and that he would let his coaches coach.

But he appears to be straddling that line again over the last year, which is why people are concerned.

Orgeron has said in the past that he prefers the offenses USC and Miami ran when he was at both places. Hanagriff and Ott have repeated on air that's what he wants.

Now I don't know what Ensminger will come out with, but it's highly likely that it's being built on the bones of those offenses with Orgeron's directive.

Doesn’t that sound terrible?

A coach had to be convinced to take the OC job at LSU.

Les had the good sense not to continue to try to give a job to someone that said they didn't want it. It's kind of a red flag.

Uh no.

If he didn't want a prestigious position that pays well in excess of $1m and had to be talked into it, he shouldn't have it.

This is not a job you do out of some sense of duty. You do it because it's an incredible opportunity that a fraction of coaches will ever have the chance to do.

He had to be talked into during the interim stint. I couldn't find a single source saying he had to be talked into it in 2018. The interim did not pay him $1 mil and could have been his undoing had O not been retained.

Says you. People take jobs all the time out of a sense of duty-- some to their community, some to their nation and yes, even some to their alma mater. Happens all the time.

So Orgeron isn’t going to meddle in his offense?

all HC's are going to "meddle" or have input into their offense and defense and special teams coordinators units, its their jobs. It is just a question of whether the input is good advise or not. I have more confidence in Orgerons input than Miles input.

What has Orgeron's input given that has resulted in tangible positives to this point? Firing Cam? What else?

Much of his input didn't seem to work last year or at Ole Miss, so I don't get where the confidence in his advice is coming from.

Make no mistake those were Les Miles offenses.
All under different OCs, he has #1 ,#2, #3 and #4 LSU scoring offenses (TDs by rush and pass) all time per 2017 Media Guide, Records-pg 101.

Also 4/5 top ppg, 3/5 yds/season, 4/5 ypp, and....... 2/5 ypg passing

Am guessing that was when Kragthorpe found out he had Parkinson's disease and they needed to find an OC?

That's how Stud ended up calling the plays that year.

I know the circumstances that caused Stud to be the OC were beyond anyone’s control, but that guy truly was the worst OC in the past 18 years.

On offense? You’re out of your mind.
Miles was at least an OL Guy. O is a DL guy.

I don’t like Miles’ offensive philosophy, but at least he had one.
