It was those other nonsense losses. Like WISCONSIN
The Wisconsin team that won 11 games and finished ranked in the top 10 and had the #2 defense in the country and we lost in the final seconds of the game in Green Bay, Wisconsin??? Nonsense!!
It’s so nice being on the side that knows what the frick they are talking about

I've had my share of frustration with Les, but ultimately I'll appreciate his time at LSU as some of the most exciting and successful in the program's history.
Well said, my friend. I think most rational people feel this way as well. The man could be absolutely maddening at times, but he put some of the very best LSU teams of all time on the field and that part should be appreciated.

Y'all do know that Miles was fired because he consistently lost to teams inferior to his?
All my post addressed is the fact that there are certain posters that want to blame Miles, coordinators, other coaches and anything else under the sun for o's failures and mistakes.
It's just like I said in my post, It's not o's fault! And there are posters that will take that battle cry to their grave.
But since you brought up Miles consistently losing to inferior teams, I went back each year to the 2010 season and looked at the teams that Miles teams lost to.
This is what I came up with.
2010: LSU went 6-2 in conference play and 11-2 overall. Finished the year ranked #8. The two games we lost were to Auburn, who went undefeated and won the NC, and to Arkansas, who went 6-2 in conference and 10-3 overall. Finished the year ranked #12.
Arkansas was a "inferior team", but not by much.
2011 we all know what happened. No "inferior team" loss in my opinion.
2012: LSU went 6-2 in conference and 10-3 overall. Finished the year ranked #14. We lost to Florida, 7-1 in conference, 11-2 overall. Final rank at #9. Clemson went 11-2 for the year and their final rank was #11. Bama won the NC that year
I don't see a loss to an "inferior team"
2013: LSU went 5-3 in conference and 10-3 overall. Ranked #14 in the final poll. Lost to Georgia, 5-3 & 8-5 for the year. Ole Miss, 3-5 & 8-5 for the year. Bama went 7-1 and 11-2 for the year and finished the year #7
Georgia and Ole Miss were "inferior teams"
2014: LSU went 4-4 in conference and 8-5 overall, and was not ranked in the final poll. Lost to Miss. St. who went 6-2 in conference and 10-3 overall. ranked #11 in the final poll. Auburn went 4-4 & 8-5 and was ranked #22 in the final poll. Arkansas went 2-6 & 7-6 for the year. Bama went 7-1 and 12-2 and their final rank was #4. Notre Dame finished the year with an 8-5 record.
Arkansas was an "inferior team"
Notre Dame finished with the exact same record. Were they an inferior team? Who knows. That's all an opinion. Some will say they were, some will say they weren't.
2015: LSU went 5-3 in conference and 9-3 overall. Ranked #16 in the final poll. Lost to Arkansas who went 5-3 & 8-5 overall. Ole Miss went 6-2 & 10-3 for the year and was ranked #10 in the final poll. Bama won the NC that year.
Arkansas was an "inferior team"
2016: Miles team lost to Wisconsin who finished the year 11-3 and ranked #9. Auburn went 5-3 & 8-5 for the year and finished ranked #24.
Auburn was an "inferior team"
So after going through all of this crap, in my opinion, and it's only an opinion, out of the 19 losses Miles had since the 2010 season, only 6 were to "inferior teams."
Of course your opinion is probably different than mine. But remember, it's only an opinion.

and He still lost.

Which is why that offense never won a game!!!!
That offense won plenty of games in 2013.

“Constantly loss”
From 2012 to 2015 LSU ranked second in the west and third in the SEC overall.
Could we have done better? Certainly. Had we become the doormat of the west or the SEC? Certainly not.
Has our on the field performances improved in the last almost 2 years? Certainly not.

The ENTIRE reason he is no longer coaching!! He was Bull headed!
Bull headed? No. I prefer to view it as a combination of being a lazy fat cat perfectly content with underachieving because he lived as a pearl in an oyster year in and year out. On top of that, I don't think he was mentally capable of bringing about the change that was needed. Stupid? Maybe too harsh but he doesn't/didn't possess the intellect to evolve with the game to keep LSU on top. He got dropped off at the summit. No way he was going to make the climb that bought LSU the (2) championship game appearances. So glad he is gone.
O didn't inherit the same situation as Miles. Not sure he'll succeed but I am damn sure pulling for him.

I called the play before it happened correctly about 80% of the time. And I never played football or have any expertise other than being a fan.
So you knew 80% of the time run details would be strong/weak, man, is zone/os zone, iso, power, counter, trap, sweep, draw, etc, etc?
You're even more brilliant to correctly call 80% of pass plays as there's numerous combo route options to beat man, zone, mofc, mofo covers that may not be called until PSR.
I suppose you could also guess when QB/C would audible out of a play also.
At 80% success you're wasting your Saturdays watching football and should be a big time DC..... or filling out lottery tickets.

Where are you pulling that data from? Do you mean once over that period?
2012 we were 3rd in the West and 6th overall.
2013 we were 3rd in West and 5th overall.
2014 we finished 5th in the West and 7th overall.
2015 we finished 3rd in the West and 5th overall.

I dunno, both Oklahoma and Nebraska would run essentially the same 3-4 plays each game back in the 1980's and 1990's and would wipe the field with your arse.....wishbone and option. It would put you to sleep, but they used to win and win big even in big OOC games
You knew what was coming, question was, could you stop it?

quote:you knew the wishbone was coming, but there were multiple options each time (FB dive, QB keep, toss, pass, and to which side of the field) and the defense had to defend them all. That kept the D spread out and they often broke many big plays. The wishbone kept defenses guessing, even though they ran most plays out of the same formation.

Again, a predictable formation does NOT necessarily equal a predictable offense. You just have to keep the defense spread out, off-balance, and guessing.

There are plenty brilliant play designers/callers at smaller programs that don't do shite vs top talent teams because their 22 can't win enough battles, except for the occasional unprepared P5 (2017 LSU).
